StarCraft

If, right now, you are asking yourself what the heck is StarCraft you can't be much of a gamer and probably shouldn't be here but just in case you don't know I will tell you.

StarCraft is probably the most anticipated game of the year and possibly ever. It is created by Blizzard Entertainment, the makers of Warcraft 1&2, and is probably the best game since War2. Some call it Warcraft in space, others say they are totally different but one thing is certain... it sure is fun.

Control and Playability

StarCraft does not only have good control it boasts some of the best playability options available on the RTS (Real Time Strategy) gaming market today. The controls and functions are magnificent. With the click of a button you can select all of one type of unit in a certain area or recall a group you were just using. You can even save groups by # and recall them at a later time. If you don't want to watch a battle all you have to do is tell your units in what order to attack and they will do it by themselves. It can't get any better than this.

Graphics

StarCraft has superb graphics for what it was made and run with. Blizzard decided not to get extremely high tech with this game so many people could still run it on older computers. They did this so they could serve more people and to obviously make more money. Even though they did this the graphics are amazing. What I mean by this is that SC is run without a 3D accelerator and uses 640*480 resolution which some people do not like. To me it doesn't make a whole lot of a difference. Overall graphics aren't the best possible but they are enough to make you open your mouth and stare for a few minutes.

Single Player

I have only played maybe 3 of the terran missions and no other missions on the single player campaigns but from what I have seen they seem to pretty good. They aren't all just hack and slash and even if it is hack and slash it is hack and slash with a twist. Some of the levels offer specific requirements such as survive for 30 minutes or something to that effect. It is all pretty cool and the mission briefer is awesome as well.

MultiPlayer

This game has EXCELLENT multiplayer capabilities and this is the only reason I bought it. I only played 3 single player levels because I spend all my time competing against real people on the Internet which I think it what the game was designed for. All the races are equally balanced and there are a million strategies to be used so it makes it really interesting to have other human players in the game. If you have never played a multiplayer game you should think of getting a program to do so because nothing compares with it. It is the ULTIMATE way to waste time:)

Affordability

This game is extremely cheap for the quality you get in the product and the excellent customer service that blizzard offers. I bought it here, in Canada, for only $63 Canadian taxes included. This is pretty cheap for a video game around here. Also that was in the first week of release so that price is bound to go down in the near future. With this game you definitely get more bang for you buck. Worth the money... trust me.

Overall

This game presents an unbeatable overall impression on the consumer. It is not extremely gory even though there is some blood, it has excellent game play, good graphics, it is fun, it is a challenge, and it has never-ending options. What more could you ask for? Not much but with future releases it is sure to only get better.
