This time, there is no tournament.

This time, there are no rules.

This time, there is only.....ANNIHILATION

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation happens right after the end of its prequal continuing with the events that happened in Mortal Kombat 3,but it has some events from Mortal Kombat 2 so the movie doesn't leave any gaps in the storyline. Expect some fantastic fight scenes.

The present trailer which does not contain any of the special effects can be downloaded here in Quicktime format.

The current cast list can be found here here.

Here are some pictures that I got

I found an article in the August issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly about Robin Shou's (Liu Kang) appearance at E3:

Beauty & The Backbelt

Mortal Kombat fans were practially peeing their pants at Midway's booth, where stars of the MK films and games signed autographs and posed for pics. Robin Shou, the chop-socky dynamo who plays Liu Kang in the MK flicks, was on hand to tell EGM what to expect from Mortal Kombat:Annihilation.

"Stunts!" Shou said.

"Expect three times more of everything. It'll be intense." The movie demanded so many stunts of the actor, in fact, that he broke his collar bone during filming.

The article goes on talking about Kerri Hoskins (Sonya in MK3).

Movie Finder

Director: John Leonetti

Cast: Robin Shou, Talisa Soto

Studio: New Line Cinema

E! Online Preview: The plot is simplicity itself: Whack! Ooomph! Bam! Krunch! for a little over 90 minutes. The first Kombat raked in an astounding $125 million--that's about a dollar a whack. This remake, made for $30 million, features exotic locales and some special effects, but parents who take their kids are likely to be punch-drunk by the time they leave the theater.
