Other "Clans" and Inhabitants of Champaign-Urbana
Some of us Kindred didn't give up all of our
vices when we were...converted. There are regular meetings every Elysium
of this Clan, which brings together many of us who wouldn't necessarily
interact otherwise. Some of us have even gotten to know each other better
because of our allegiance to Clan Smoker. It's a bond the others may never
understand, but the broad range of other Clans represented at each meeting
is sort of what I think the whole of Elysium should be -- all of us putting
aside petty Clan prejudices, and getting to know even those we don't always
get along with. Clan Smoker is a unique group of people, something we should
all think about when we deal with others...
I pretty much look upon these guys as a bunch
of boobs. They're the kind of people who are going to die virgins, unless
you counting fucking around with computers. The Nechtocracy have appointed
themselves pro temp guardians of "humankind," protecting
all of those lucky enough not to have been cursed with being Kindred, Garou,
Ghouls, etc. The paradox being, of course, that these weirdos surround
themselves with technology and others like themselves, never seeming to
truly interact with the rest of "their race." I really hate it
when people play God, thinking that just because they're Vampires, or Werewolves,
or because they've got supernastytechnogarbagegadgets, that somehow makes
them better than all of those who get up, go to work at 8 a.m., work, come
home for dinner at 5pm, spend time with their families, their pets, their
friends, go out dancing, go camping, etc. In other words, the normal people
who end up having lives that none of the rest of us ever can. If these
guys would remove whatever bug they have up their asses (LITERALLY!), maybe
they could understand things better.
GAROU

7/26/98 - I've updated my feelings, a bit. With the exception of Ed, who needs to learn a little self-restraint and learn how to like hearing other voices besides his own, I've found that maybe they are learning that we should be pretty low, all of us good undead, that is, on their list of creatures to hate, after I helped them find a very nasty spirit of decay called Legion. Hopefuly they'll accept my offer to open up a dialogue with them. 7/2/98 - If your idea of fun and peace-loving fucking hippie werewolf shit is carving up, permanently, the arm of somebody who's trying to stop a friend of his from commiting suicide, then golly, you sure had yourself a ball last Friday, didn't you? Hey, check it out, I made a rhyme: FUCK YOU, GAROU. Like it? I do. 6/8/98 - I have a pretty-low image of these fellows right now, as the only significant thing I've seen them do as of late was to attack a bunch of my friends who were defending my semi-lifeless body. They didn't ask questions, didn't see who the bad guys were, just assumed that since we all "stank of the wyrm" (oooh...fancy pseudo-archaic spelling...I'm almost impressed...), that we were all bad. Next time, don't just jump into a fight like you did, or you're just as bad as the low-lifes who jumped me in the first place. And then striding into Elysium like you're Gods? How would Gaea REALLY feel about indiscriminate killing? If your Gods created all, they created us as well. We didn't all have a choice in becoming what we are, and not all of us are keen on just offing ourselves because you think we smell bad. So why not try to get along with us, and we can attempt to deal with each others' REAL enemies together. Talk to me, guys...

7/26/98 - If Gabriel would remember that, like the rest of us, he is not the most important thing in the universe, then things would be going quite well. Actually, they were fairly well behaved last week, and tried to help out once or twice. I think that they, like the Garou, need to realize that all things which are not technically "part of nature," like Kindred, don't necesarily fall into the abominations and crimes against God category. Because, you see, if they believe that their God created all, then they need to realize that their god created the undead as well, not necesarily as a driving force of evil. The vampires of this city, and all over the world, act very poorly more often than mortals, or at least in more noticeable ways. That's because we have power that few people in this world would know how to put to the best use without getting killed by people who are jealous, power-mad, full of hate, or simply do not understand. I like to see the existence of the undead as simply another factor in all of the life that inhabits this planet. And just like all inhabitants, we have the capacity for good AND evil, it's just that with the raw power we possess, the evil is very noticeable, and the good is easily overlooked. Take the same stance you have now, which is observation, and I'll be happy. Keep an open mind, and remember to read judiciously from your open Book...
