Creators: Quest
Release Date: Fall '97 (Playstation); A long time ago...(Super
NES)
System: Playstation, Super NES

The Story: You and your fellow townspeople have lived under a ruthless
empire for quite a long time until you decide to do something about it.
You and your rebel army gain troops and reputation as you march your way
to the empire's capital. The common people will offer support for
you if you follow the "Way of the Kings", but will hate you just as much
as the empire if you choose to be a ruthless "ogre".
Review: 6/10. Ogre Battle is a very open game and allows you
to do just about anything. Your reputation will rise or fall depending
on your decisions and actions. There are at least 12 endings to Ogre
Battle ranging from a glorious reign as emperor to getting your castle
scorched and then you executed. The game does get a bit tedious
and repetitive after awhile though. The Playstation version is incredibly
slow, but has a bit better graphics than the SNES version. It is
a fun game, but eventually it grows old.
Cool Stuff
------------
-Liches...Liches are the best magic users and can be obtained by using
an "UNDEAD" item on a sorceror. Liches have 3 powerful magic attacks,
can recruit undead units such as wraiths and phantoms, and are almost immune
to all magic! In my opinion only princesses are better. Liches
almost always have 0 ALI and are massacred by white magic so keep them
away from sylphs and angels.
-Princesses...Can be obtained by using a "CROWN" on an Amazon.
Princesses get 1 attack from the back row, but if they are the leader of
their group, everyone in the group gets an extra attack counting herself.
Princesses use white magic called "Starlite" which will kill off any undead
units you run into. Their ability to give everyone extra attacks
can turn an OK unit into an extremely powerful one. Princesses also
have really high ALI so they make great liberators.
-FIRESEAL...When prompted for your name at the beginning of a new game
type 'FIRESEAL' and you will get to fight a secret battle which allows
you to quickly see all the cool units offered in Ogre Battle.

If you ran out and bought this over-hyped game and it is not lying
at the bottom of your garbage can, you should be shot.
