I have been simming with Kennedy since the conception of the X-files Sim, back then she was a very one dimetional character in search of one thing. Her ex-partner's killer. Since that time Kennedy has developed into a much more complex and fun character to work with. She has been a part of 20 or so cases since joining the X-files division. Over the time of the those cases she has made the X-files division her home and the agents her extended family.

She has the skill to make herself very nondescript, unremarkable or when decked out, quite stunning. She has long dark reddish brown hair, usually worn in loose bun or braid to the middle of her back. She has a milky white complexion and a face although simple and pretty is not beautiful but interesting. Except for one feature, her eyes. She has deep emerald eyes that can be very alluring or frighteningly cold.

SPECIAL SKILLS OR POWERS:


Due to an accident in her youth(described later) she has become very intuitive, almost to the point of clairvoyance. Although few if any people other than herself know of this ability, her close friends have noticed her uncanny ability to know when someone is bluffing at poker.(rolled for ability to tell when someone is lying) She shrugs off any comments about it by saying, "In the Bureau they train you to look for little nonverbal clues, things normal people subconsciously dismiss." **This ability has failed her only once, but this one time was important enough to teach her not to depend too heavily upon it.**

HISTORY:


She is the youngest child of 4 and the only girl. Her two oldest brothers are both members of the Chicago Police department. One a undercover narcotics officer, the second a detective in homicide. Her third brother manages the family owned Restaurant and Pub. Both of her parents were killed one late night when closing the Pub. Kennedy, 17 at the time, was cleaning the bathroom when she heard the shots. She tried to escape but was also shot by the surprised intruder. The bullet was logged behind her eye, leaving her in a coma for 6 months. When she emerged from her coma, the back of her eye(which had been slightly burned) had all but healed and her eye sight was nearly normal. Her memory had been affected to a small degree and she could remember little of the accident. After a time she realized what she had lost in memory had been replaced with her new found "gift". Although both brothers worked frantically to catch their parents killer, the case is still unsolved. Kennedy went on to college and graduated with an honors degree in Sociology. She was pursuing her masters in criminology when she was recruited for the FBI.

History Leading to X-files Assignment


Her first partner was killed while investigating a drug money laundering case in Arkansas, that turned into a broader case of bank fraud. Her partner had returned to DC to check on a anonymous tip about a US Senator's involvement. He was found dead in his Condo, shot with his own gun. The death was ruled suicide. Kennedy, "knowing" this was wrong, requested permission to investigate his death further. She was denied. She investigated anyway and was placed on probation. During this time she went back to Chicago to help out at the Pub. An agent, named Fox Mulder, who was in Chicago on a case of his own, stopped into see her. He had been a friend of her former partner wanted to hear fist hand the circumstance of his friends death. Unimpressed by the official version he became intrigued by her insights into the case. He offered to pull some strings to get her reinstated and placed in his division, with the idea that sometime in the future they would investigate her partner's death.

People important to Kennedy


Connor Ryan- oldest brother, undercover officer in narcotics for the Chicago PD. Married, no children. Kennedy and Connor are the least closest. He is over protective and overbearing at times. She hates his wife.[Hostages Released]

Patrick Ryan- Next oldest brother, Detective in Homicide for the Chicago PD. Married, 4 children. Kennedy spends a great deal of time and money on Patrick's children and it is usually Patrick's house where the family meets for Holidays. He reminds her most of her father.

Sean Ryan- Next oldest brother, Bartender and owner of the family pub in Chicago. Widowed, 1 child. Sean is her favorite brother. He has always provided a place for her to escape to when things get to a point of escape. He is also the one who taught her how to play Hockey. They are the most alike. Sean was kidnapped by the LCN in retaliation for Kennedy's information gathering on the Hayes Institute for Gifted Children. Kennedy compromised her position and her values to ensure his and another persons return. Although happy with her brother's safe return, she hasn't forgiven herself for the methods she used to achieve it.[Hostages Released]

Maddie Halverson-Kennedy met Maddie while attending the University of Wisconsin. Although Maddie is not truly Kennedy's sister, she is as close to Kennedy as any of her other family members. Maggie was responsible for Kennedy's recruitment to the FBI. She is the Director of the Counter Terrorism unit for the FBI out of DC. She and Kennedy were so close during the college years that they developed codes to get each other out of class and other social obligations. This code has been adapted to their interactions within the FBI.[The phone message ] Through this code, Maggie passes information and rumors about the X-files and other cases of Kennedy's interest. Maggie is no doubt the one who helped Mulder get Kennedy's reassignment to the X-files.

Special Agent Bradford Pierce-Her first and only partner[see other notes above]. After his death Kennedy became obsessed with proving his death was a murder. She had volumes of information that was seized by the FBI, when it was found out she was pursuing the case after Brad's death. Although the all documentation was taken, a small journal with personal notations was overlooked. Kennedy entered all the data left into her home computer and encrypted it. A reporter named God Starr, also investigating the Senator Brad was, revealed to her that she had been on the right track when her investigation was halted[Personal Log] Rumors say they had become more than partners. Since his death she has been very careful to keep relationships with other agents on a strictly professional level (although this has been difficult since being assigned to the X Files). Brad left everything to Kennedy including a large life insurance policy and his Condo in Virginia, where she currently resides.

Other Background

Religion: Kennedy was raised in a strict Catholic family. Attended Catholic school. She attended Church every Sun until her partner Brad was shot. She has not been in a church since. She does, however, still wear a emerald Celtic Cross necklace and lists Catholic as her religion on all her FBI records.
Academy Background: Carries a 9mm automatic. While Completing her Academy training she did the necessary course work to earn her masters in Criminology. She excelled in hand to hand and criminal profiling.
Hobbies: Kennedy loves sports. Especially the Chicago Blackhawks, a Hockey team. She was the only girl ever to play Hockey for her high school. She learned how to read Tarot cards in College.[The Fool] Her favorite card game is Euchre. When it comes to Stout, she can out drink just about anyone including the men in her family. Her favorite books are Mists of Avalon, by Marion Zimmer Bradley and A Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain. She loves old movies. She has an extensive video collection, cherishing her Cary Grant movies as old friends. She has worn out her copies of His girl Friday and Father Goose , having to replace them once.

Vehicle: A red 69 Mustang. Mint condition. It was a car she restored, with her brothers help, during her summers home from college.
Apparel: When not dressed in suits for work, she looks like an Ad for Eddie Bauer. Wears little make up. The only jewelry she wears is her necklace. Recently has started wearing braclets around her writsts to hide wounds she recieved while on a case[Vanished] For formal occasions she will wear her mother's emerald lapel pin and her grandmother's emerald stud earrings.
Music: She loves harp music. Also 60's rock really appeals to her(Simon and Garfunkel, Judy Collins, The Beatles, etc.) She has trouble sleeping at night(average night sleep is 3-4 hours) To ease her to sleep she listens to nature sound tapes.
Television: The only reason Kennedy even has Cable is For ESPN and CNN. Although she does enjoy Star Trek, and secretly tapes the 1/2 hour soap opera The Bold and The Beautiful.
Other entertainment: Loves to attend movies. When back in Chicago, during her few vacations - during the summer she makes a point to go camping in Wisconsin and catch a American Player's Theater Production Of Shakespeare's A Midsummer night's Dream .-during the winter catches a Blackhawks game and does some Cross Country skiing.

Case experience

December 1992 - Kennedy graduates from the FBI academy. She is assigned as a partner to Bradford Pierce, a veteran. On their first case, an investigation of Real-estate fraud, the two were set up to look like a married couple looking to invest. The case lasted 7 months. From this situation the two became as close as a married couple and perhaps closer.

August 1992 - They are once again "playing house" This time looking to buy a baby from abroad. They are extremely successful in bringing down an intricate international black market baby ring. But not before one of the babies, Kennedy and Brad arrange to buy from Mexico, dies enroute due to Malnutrition and dehydration. This affects Kennedy really hard. She and Brad take a vacation to England/Ireland.

December 1993 - The two are assigned to investigate an S&L scam in Arkansas. The two spend months running into dead ends. Then after investigating certain S&L investments, they start to unravel some interesting leads. Just as they feel they are onto something big, they get a tip that connects an Arkansas Senator to a securities fraud. Feeling one should stay behind to tie things up in Arkansas Brad flies back to DC alone. May 1, 1994 Brad is found dead by his own gun in his Condo. June 3, 1994 the FBI rule the death a suicide.

September 1994 - Kennedy is placed on probation for disobeying orders and investigating her partner's death. She returns to Chicago and finds escape in working for her family's pub. Until late November when Agent Mulder shows up at the Pub to ask Kennedy about his friend, Brad, from the Academy. Mulder convinces her to join his Team.[Applegate]

February 1995 - Kennedy is sent a cryptic message that Agent Mulder, on assignment, may be in Danger. She joins up with several agents who have received the same sorts of messages. She finds that her college knowledge of Tarot cards comes in handy when working on the clues of the case. She meets reporter Godd Starr, a man with knowledge about the Senator that Kennedy believes arranged her partners death.[The Tower case ]

March 1995 - Kennedy, with several agents, are sent to investigate a new entertainment park under construction . The star attraction being a pyramid brought from abroad. It is found that the Kinasheh Pyramid is connected to several brutal murders in the adjacent town. The pyramid is thought to provide a form of time travel, but is destroyed before this can be proven. The case is still unsolved. After this case Godd Starr is believed to be lost in the explosion and with him Kennedy's hopes of framing the Senator.[Kinasheh Pyramid Case ]

May 1995 - Kennedy is brought into investigate the Hayes Institute for Gifted Children. Specifically the fanatical dealings of the board members. After a relatively short investigation she finds all sort of financial abuses. Soon after her discoveries she receives a note and picture informing her brother, Sean, had been kidnapped. After using unethical methods she frees her brother and other hostages. Eventually the specialized school was shut down. [Hayes Institute Case]

June 1995 - Kennedy spends the1st two weeks in Chicago helping her brother recoup from his injuries obtained during his kidnapping. She spends a great deal of her time working at the family's pub, owned now by her brother Sean.
