EYES: emerald green, slightly better than 20/20
SEX: female
HEIGHT: 5'4"
WEIGHT: 110 lbs.
BUILD: athletic, not too thin, lean muscles, natural
AGE: 26 - November 23, 1970
STRENGTH: average - strong

STAMINA: average
PHYSICAL FEATURES: She often talks quietly because she is used to speaking softly. Most of her comments are to herself. She often speaks in a formal language, no matter to whom she is speaking. Sometimes, the distant feeling from her talking makes her colleagues uncomfortable, but when they realize she always talks that way, they relax. She usually has a passive look on her face for she is very low-strung. She feels emotions powerfully, as nearly anything can make her cry, but she can easily mask those emotions until a later time.
CHARISMA: She is quiet, down-to-earth, and enigmatic. She makes others wonder why she ticks. She's so reserved and quite, yet she is so driven that others wonder what makes her keep going. What does she gain from doing what she does? What is her motivation? She blends in well, can assume any type of mentality, and thus, is not considered "hostile" by those not in the bureau. Her colleagues like her because she is not overbearing. She expects much, but will not nag, nag, nag, to get it. She leads well and is very selfless, as she is always willing to let others take the spotlight, or share it.
MANNERISMS: When she's uncomfortable, she'll put on a jacket and wrap it around herself, no matter what the weather. No matter where she may be, she will always take the time to "commune" with nature. In many instances, her fellow agents have found her on the edge of a lake or beach, or on a roof top at night, staring at the stars, etc. after a case. Many speculate she uses this opportunity to clear her mind, however, no one is sure, since she refuses to acknowledge this act in anything more than, "I was just thinking."
DEMEANOR: She is quiet until after the first initial meetings. Then, her subtle humor shows. She is very reliable, loyal, uses her instincts often, honest, and fair or objective.
PERCEPTION: She can usually tell the little changes in mood, mannerisms, etc. in almost everyone. She watches mannerisms and is able to tell what kind of person she is dealing with in order to "change" herself accordingly. She looks at everyone as a person, not good or bad, or convict, suspect, or agent, but as just a person. She leads as a follower to see how the person or persons she is observing really act.
WIT: She has some wit, mostly, only those that actually listen to everything she says catches it. Her humor is usually very subtle. She thinks very well rationally on her feet, but creatively, it takes a while longer.
COMMON SENSE: She is definitely book smart, as you will read in her Profile. Despite her "advanced" childhood, she is very experienced, just because of everything that had happened to her as a child. She is reserved or hesitant when something she doesn't know comes up, or when she feels something is "wrong."
HABITS: She always naps in the afternoon and refuses to drink coffee. She always offers to drive, and it seems like she is a control freak in that area. Also, she refuses alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, or other non-prescription or non-over-the-counter narcotics, at any time.
HOBBIES: She plays tennis and golf regularly, depending on her fatigue factor. She listens to a lot of music and of all types. She is a sing-along-to-the-radio type, but not often in front of others. She likes to run or go for hikes. She also loves to watch basketball on television.
MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS: She provides insightful information on situations and or people that are not always clearly evident. Probably as a result of her quiet and studying nature.
MORAL CHARACTERISTICS: It is nearly impossible to make her stray from her personal morals. She has a definite spectrum of what is right and what is wrong, and she tries never to stray from them. If an alternate opinion is asked, she will give it. She tries to help others in their weaknesses to make them into strengths, but only if they ask, or if they are not the type to become defensive with some gentle prodding. She is a proponent of positive reinforcement.
NATURE: She is very quiet, somewhat shy, and contemplative. She looks as though she is a follower.
TRUE NATURE: Her intelligence is mainly internal. She is quiet so she may determine other people's true nature. When something needs to be done or said, she will take control, but is not overbearing. When she leads, she is not condescending and other agents feel they are doing what she asks of their own free will, which they are, just with a little guidance from her.
BELIEFS: She has no religious affiliation or set political beliefs. She bases her opinion on her moral standards. She does believe that anything is possible, especially in the realm of the paranormal or supernatural.
TRADITIONS: She checks her e-mail at least three times a day. She browses the World Wide Web at least once a day. She watches the Star Wars Trilogy at least once a month.
CLOTHING: On-duty she wears either a blouse, slacks, jacket, flats combination, a blouse, skirt, jacket, flats combination, or a dress, jacket, flats combination. Off-duty she likes to wear either a jeans, t-shirt, sandals/sneakers combination, a casual dress, flats/sandals combination, or a shirt, skirt, flats/sandals/sneakers combination. As for jewelry, she usually wears a simple watch. Since her divorce, her wedding band/engagement ring combination have been a somewhat noticable absence. Make-up is usually minimal to none.
CURRENT LIFESTYLE: She lives in a modest house in MacLean, Virginia. She was married to a computer engineer, Joseph Richard Palmer, but had no children. Her friends are mainly her fellow agents, doctors she has worked with, and computer engineers. She has one cat, a jet black female named Kitty. In her off-time, she likes to play tennis, golf, go paintballing, and play rollerblade hockey with her friends. When she can, she goes for hikes, or goes camping, usually with a close friend and almost never with her colleagues.
HOME: The house she lives in is very clean, save for a few rooms. Guests would not be repelled by the sight, unless they were to walk into the master bedroom or the main computer/office room. Those areas are cluttered with strewn clothes or papers of every size, shape, and color in any available place. She has two cars. She owns a black Mercedes Benz convertible she received on her sixteenth birthday and a dark blue Nissan Maxima which used to belong to her husband, Joseph.
PROFILE: On November 23, 1970, Alsatia Marie Robertson was born in Enid, Oklahoma. Her parents, John Michael and Kimberly Anne Robertson, both only children, were researchers for the Oklahoma Health Department. Four years earlier, the Robertson's had their first child, a boy, John Michael Robertson, Jr. The family lived in a small but comfortable home on the outskirts of Enid, making it an ideal place to raise children, for they could run around and play wherever they wanted with minimal risk of injury, kidnaping, etc.
The Robertson's noticed almost immediately the Alsatia was a special child. Her mother noted, in many diary entries, that she felt that Alsatia knew when she was feeling bad or good, just by looking at her. John Robertson also noticed his daughter's gifted nature in her ability to find new and creative ways to get her parent's attention and getting her wants and needs across, all without being able to speak. Alsatia began to learn at an early age and was speaking coherently by her first birthday. She was also able to read fairly well by her first birthday. Her parents and brother delighted in teaching her new things, for it seemed as if she could remember anything she saw or heard.
The family moved to northern Virginia as John Michael, Sr. had a change in jobs. Alsatia's incredible learning capacity increased exponentially over the next two years and she was enrolled in first grade in the Wellshire Day School (I don't think it really exists), a prestigious private school, at age three. At the time, Alsatia's emotional capacity seemed to be maturing just as fast as her intellect, however, that would change in the next few years. Alsatia successfully completed each grade within a few months, and was able to begin college at age ten. She was accepted into Harvard University, under the condition that her status be carefully monitored by the faculty and by the child psychologists on campus. This was to ensure that Alsatia was to receive the best education possible while trying to give her a "normal" childhood, or as normal as one could get under the circumstances.
Unfortunately, in the same year Alsatia began college, tragedy struck the Robertson family. A man, Andrew Whittle, exacted a twisted kind of revenge on the Robertson family. Seven years before, his son and Alsatia were competing to attend the Wellshire Day School. His son, Mark, was not accepted, and Andrew Whittle had held a grudge ever since. His obsession with the Robertsons finally caused him to turn to the psychotic. On December 25, 1980, Andrew Whittle broke into the Robertson family home and murdered John Michael, Sr. and Kimberly Anne Robertson as the family was having Christmas breakfast. Whittle shot both parents in the head in front of the two children in the hopes of causing Alsatia to become catatonic and useless. However, his attempt backfired as Alsatia attacked her studying more vigorously and excelled more rapidly. As a disgruntled Andrew Whittle was finally convicted of his crime, two years later, Alsatia Marie Robertson graduated from Harvard University and was immediately accepted into Harvard Medical School.
Since Alsatia was at Harvard most of the time, the state of Virginia appointed a competent faculty member as her guardian. This faculty member, Christopher Mark Headly, and his wife Jane Elizabeth took Alsatia into their home, but could not take John Michael, Jr. for the state had already sent him to foster care.
During the following two years, while Alsatia was beginning her medical studies, John became more and more resentful of Alsatia and her position. While their parents were alive, John and Alsatia had been given equal treatment, at least by their parents. Now that they were deceased, it seemed to John that Alsatia was given preferential treatment, and she was. He wrote many angry letters and made many hateful telephone calls to Alsatia during that time. Alsatia tried to console the feelings between herself and her brother and had just begun when another tragedy occurred.
The year before, Andrew Whittle was released from prison, on parole, for good behavior. Whittle tracked down both Alsatia and John. On December 25, 1985, on the fifth anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Robertson's death, Andrew Whittle murdered John Michael Robertson, Jr., in the same way as his father and mother, in his foster home. As he had contemplated his plan in prison, Mr. Whittle came to realize that leaving Alsatia alone in the world, with no real family whatsoever, could be enough revenge for him. His own wife and son had left him five years before, when the first murders were committed. Thus, Andrew Whittle had nothing left in his life and he took his own life just after John Michael, Jr.'s.
Alsatia was crushed by this event and withdrew herself from society even more. She was fifteen and was just being accepted in society for her young age and intellect. The next year, Alsatia went through the legal process of having herself emancipated. She felt it was her own fault her family was gone and decided she did not want the same fate to befall the Headly's. Then, living on her own, she became one of the youngest doctors in the nation at age sixteen.
Alsatia Marie Robertson worked hard to forget the past, but was only marginally successful on her own. Realizing she could not repress the past, she sought professional help and was rewarded with the help of Dr. Peter Alan Berry, M.D. Peter Berry was a practicing psychiatrist with a medical degree and helped Alsatia much throughout the next two years. During that time, Alsatia worked at Johns Hopkins University hospital in various positions. The hospital had no doubts of Alsatia's abilities, but were wary of her emotional status. Thus, they paid for her sessions with Dr. Berry and allowed her free rein of her duties, as long as she had proper supervision and reported to her superiors periodically.
When Alsatia turned eighteen, the Federal Bureau of Investigation came recruiting for her. The F.B.I. had been interested in Alsatia ever since she began attending Harvard University. They tracked her progress carefully over the years and decided to approach her when she became a legal adult. Alsatia agreed readily, for she was ready for a new challenge. Many in the Bureau wondered if Alsatia's recruitment was a wise choice, given her psychiatric help, however, the following statement from an unnamed Superior Official closed any speculation in that aspect.
Statement
June 30, 1986
It is the opinion of the Committee that the recruitment of Alsatia Marie Robertson is in no way detrimental to the Bureau. The Committee has reviewed her file many times and conducted many interviews. She is a competent individual and is to be commended for seeking help in an area she knew she could not handle. The Committee will take her at her word, unless evidence points in an opposing direction, when she said that she had discussed her past history with herself and her psychiatrist, has accepted it, and is ready to move forward in her life. No further inquiry is to be expected in this subject.
Thus, Alsatia Marie Robertson became Special Agent Alsatia Marie Robertson after completing the necessary training in Quantico, Virginia.
During her stay at Quantico, Alsatia continued her medical studies at a nearby hospital. On many occasions, she would have lunch at the local cafe where many workers of the nearby electronics plant frequented. There she met Joseph Richard Palmer, her future husband. He, a computer engineer, was one year older, educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and part of a small family living in Falls Church, Virginia. His parents and younger sister took an instant liking to Alsatia and his and her relationship progressed well. Two months after her graduation from the Academy, Joseph and Alsatia were married, on July 15, 1990. They lived in a two story home in MacLean, Virginia.
Alsatia began her career in the F.B.I. in the Violent Crimes Section. She was an excellent investigator, for she had the ability to read people well. Also, she was very instrumental in getting much of the Violent Crimes section's cases and information available via computer terminal with her excellent understanding of the way computers work. She and her first partner, Andrea Nicole Scott had an above average solve rate and worked very well together. Andrea left a few months ago to begin her family and Agent Palmer is between partners at the moment.
During her tenure in the Violent Crimes section, she has never worked directly with Fox Mulder or Dana Scully, but she had been part of a team for which they were aiding. She has never met Fox Mulder, but she has met Dana Scully once, when the two had to investigate an interesting autopsy report pertaining to both of their cases. With the absence of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, Alsatia Palmer hopes to continue the work which was so puzzlingly left when the agents disappeared. She hopes one day to investigate their disappearance as a part of the OPI staff.
Her reasons for wanting to transfer into the OPI division are included in the following statement.
Recorded Vocal Statement
June 7, 1996
Assistant Director Walter S. Skinner - Transfer Committee Head
[Note: Since the disappearance of Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, Assistant Director Walter S. Skinner has taken a personal interest in assigning agents to the X-Files division in the hopes of not repeating a situation involving former Special Agent Alex Krycek.]
Skinner: Agent Palmer, what are your reasons for wanting to join the OPI division?
Palmer: Sir, I wish to expand my horizons and I hope to accomplish this by adding my skills to the OPI division. From reviewing the division profile, I feel that my talents could be used, especially my medical expertise. I feel there is never a shortage of medical personnel in any division. Also, not every medically trained member has the same specialty, and I hope to be able to add something the others cannot, or to help in an area that the others and myself can collaborate.
Skinner: Is there any other reason?
Palmer: {pause} Sir, I'm not sure if some of my reasons are...what the Bureau would consider...appropriate.
Skinner: Please continue, Agent Palmer.
Palmer: Truthfully, Sir, I feel that my co-workers are not comfortable around me.
Skinner: And you are afraid they will ostracize you?
Palmer: Respectfully, Sir, I'm afraid it's too late for that, but yes.
Skinner: What evidence do you have towards this display of actions?
Palmer: I have had one or two agents confront me directly with their reasons. In one case, one Agent expressed that he was uncomfortable working with someone who has had as much psychological therapy as I have had. I believe he felt I may have a problem in the mental stability department.
Skinner: How do you feel about this, Agent Palmer?
Palmer: (in a stiff, cold voice) I feel I am as capable of handling a situation as the next agent.
Skinner: I see. Are there any other reasons for your request to transfer to the OPI division?
Palmer: Other than my aspiration to challenge myself further, no, Sir.
Skinner: Agent Palmer, if you are refused this transfer, what will you do?
Palmer: Sir, at this point, I am unsure. However, I would probably continue in the Violent Crimes section for a few years. I feel that the types of cases we handle are...mundane. They are challenging, however, there are too many of the same type over and over again. I feel I need the OPI cases to challenge the deeper recesses of my creative and intellectual mind. After a few years, I would probably retire, maybe in the year 2000, having served my ten years to the nation.
Skinner: Do you feel that you are close to burnout?
Palmer: No, Sir...
Skinner: What is it, Agent Palmer.
Palmer: (clears throat) Sir, more like I am close to an extreme case of...boredom. Sir.
Skinner: I see...{a pause in which one can hear the fidgeting of someone in a chair, probably Agent Palmer} That will be all, Agent Palmer. You will receive notification on your transfer status within the next few weeks.
Palmer: Thank you, Sir, for your time.
{a door is heard closing}
End Statement
Alsatia was accepted into the OPI division. She was then involved in a case, which she was not legally allowed to investigate, in a series of murders that were similar to those of her parents and brother. A mysterious man, Paul, led her through this investigation as she faced many personal horrors, including a near repeat episode of her parents's death which resulted in an injury for Alsatia, both mentally and physically. At the end, however, the perpetrator, the son of Andrew Whittle, was killed during apprehension. This was not the end of her worries, though.
Throughout the entire investigation, relations between her and Joseph were strained, as he did not trust Paul. These tensions were further strained by Alsatia's contemplation of a statement made by OPI Agent Jake Stillwater. The culmination of all these events led to a mutual separation between Alsatia and Joseph.
As of September 21, 1996, Alsatia Marie Palmer and Joseph Richard Palmer were legally divorced. Alsatia has gone back to her maiden name of Robertson.
As of November 5, 1996, Agent Robertson was placed on a "disabled list," brought on by a car accident. At that time, she was in a coma. It was uncertain if she would awaken.
(Note: A Sim-Fic of this event is available. It is called Alsatia Interlude.)
On November 11, 1997, Alsatia showed her first signs of recovery. She opened her eyes.
