The Brettionians is another army which is reaping the benefits of
its new born army book. In my, oh so humble opinion, I think
Brettonia is a pretty cheesy army. With 75% characters, and some
funky formations, I think you'd agree with me, at least a little bit.
The disadvantages of Brettonia are similiar to that of any human
army. Being a human their stats are all average, exceeding in no
area. The Brettonians are an all knight army. They must have at least
25% knights on all occassions. I don't really consider this any
advantage or disadvantage. The knights of Brettonia are pretty
decent. The Grail Knights are their big time unit. With a weapon
skill of 5, strength of 4, and immunity to psychology they are a
pretty good unit. A bit costly, at 45 points a piece, they still make
up any Brettonian general's main force. Brettonia also has a lance
formation for it's knights which gives them a monster rank bonus and
allows more knights, than should be, attack. Their archers are not
super at shooting, but have a wedge formation which gives them a good
rank bonus and allows more archers than normal to shoot. Brettonian
characters can have virtues which are a steal. A 50 point virtue
which makes him immune to hostile magic, a long with a whole bunch of
others that do a number of things. Special characters of the
Brettonia army are amoung some of the best, if not the best. They
should be check out in person. Be sure to sit down while reading the
Green Knight.
If you like having lots of cavalry and characters to lead them,
then Brettonia is the big pick here. Their reliance on cavalry makes
them very predictable, but powerful none the less.
