The Wood Elves are the best archers in the Warhammer world. A Wood Elf bow has superior range and armour piercing capabilites than any other. Wood Elves have the disadvantages of the elven weakness and their lack of cavalry make them a hard army to play offensive at all. They have excellent archery with guerilla warfare tactics in mind. Wood Elves have no war machines because they love their precious Forest of Loren too much to cut down a tree. Instead they have Treemen and Dryads as regiments. Treemen are awesome fighters. Very high stats and a 5+ unmodified save. As well as the ability to tree wack war machines and he won't break until he has taken a wound in combat. Treemen are mean monsters, that is why they are only allowed at 1 per 1,000 points of the game. Always take your full allowance.

If you're the person who likes to sit back in a defensive position and bomb away at the enemy with missile fire the whole day, then Wood Elves are definately your thing.
