Bomberman 64 has a battle mode that is unlike any other game on the N64 (at least the ones that I've played). The reason why it is different is because there aren't any split screens, everything takes place on the same screen.



There are also two different types of battle mode. One of them is everyone for themselves and the last one alive wins. The other is a team battle where you have to destroy the other teams diamond.

Another good feature in the battle mode is that there are computer controlled players. That way you can have others to blow up if you don't have enough controllers. Also you get to use the custom parts from adventure mode in battle mode (as long as you have a controller pack).

Battle mode has the same items as adventure mode, minus the diamonds and remote bombs. There are also skulls, which have many different effects, and evils, which are like the skulls except they affect everyone.
