Overview:
  To make up for the debacle that the 3F Hunter caused, designers
at Lionel Industries began reworking the design.  Several DCMS
officials were included in the design process to make comments
and provide some ideas for improvements.  Five long months later
the new HTR-4B Hunter began trial runs in the Draconis Combine.

Capabilities:
  The HTR-4B is a vast improvement over its predecessor in many
ways.  It is powered by a Magna 250 fusion plant that generates a
top speed of 88 kph.  Five Loadlifter-15s provide enough lift to
propel the 'Mech up to 150 meters in any direction.  Armor
protection is improved by up to 68% with the use of nine tons of
ferro fibrous armor.  Use of a standard engine and CASE protection
increases the survivability of the Hunter.
  A more powerful primary weapon was discussed and several types
such as the AC/20 were suggested.  Eventually, a PPC was used as
the main weapon because of weight restrictions.  Three SRM-4 racks
are the main midrange array for peppering enemies with missiles.
A small laser provides token damage at point blank range.

Deployment:
  After thorough testing, the first production run of Hunters now
accompany many heavy and assault class 'Mechs throughout the
Combine.  Limited numbers of the HTR-4B are manufactured in the
main factories in the Chaos March.
