Neon Genesis: Evangelion
Evangelion is a great anime made by GAINAX. However, I do not
recommend this anime to everyone. I think that this anime is an
anime that you either like or you do not like. Evangelion is
full of biblical references and forces you to think a LOT.
Evangelion starts off with Shinji Ikari, a young boy, who is
called by his father, Gendo Ikari, to come to Japan. Shinji
arrives in Japan and waits for someone to pick him up. All of
this is happening while alarms and sirens are going off like
crazy. Shinji wonders if he should go to the shelters. Well,
after a while, Shinji got picked up by Misato Katsuragi and
taken to NERV. His father had a surprise for Shinji, he had
planned for Shinji to be a pilor of an Eva Unit, Unit 01.
Shinji was furious that his father told him to come to Japan
just for that reason. He did not want to pilot the Eva. After
some discussion, Shinji still did not want to pilot it so they
called Rei Ayanami, the First Child, who was highly injured.
The sight of her made Shinji decide to pilot the Eva.
Evangelion is a very different anime which you might not
understand fully the first time around so you may want to try it
out awhile before you give it a full verdict. Later in the
series you will find out more characters and more Eva pilots and
their Units.
