Race Information
There are twelve known races that can aspire to be adventures.  The following is a list of these races including their aptitudes, healing rates, prefered careers, etc.
Aldonian
~~~~~~~~
Aldonians are a highly intelligent, mystical race that relies
on their developed 'sixth' sense.  Aldonians shy away from
hand to hand combat and prefer to use their mystical and mental
abilities.  The most striking physical characteristic of the
Aldonian is their tall stature... males can stand 7 feet tall
and females a statuesque 6 and a half feet.  They have slim,
graceful bodies and normally fair complexions and light colored
eyes.

Aldonians make excellent mages and psions, passable clerics
that rely more on the powers granted them by their god than
physical combat.  Aldonians would NEVER be fighters or thieves.
Some Aldonians are blessed with dulcet voices and fine musical
talents that let them be quite passable bards.
Catfolk

The Catfolk are a race of humanoid felines. The greatly resemble humans
except for the feline facial features and hair covered bodies. They are
slightly smaller in build than a human, but tend to be a much more
charismatic race, as well as slightly more intelligent. The thing that
they are known most for, though, is their amazing agility. They are
very fleet of foot and agile.

Catfolk make excellent thieves, good mages and average clerics.  Due to
strength and constitution limitations, Catfolk make poor fighters, but
due to their high charisma, dexterity and intelligence, are good bards.
Elf
~~~
Elves, as a rule, are a race of very high, almost regal beings.
They resemble humans, but there are great differences. Most elven
races are not as strong or physically built as humans. This may seem
to be a disadvantage, but their heightened agility and mental powers
greatly make up for their physical short comings. Elves also tend
to have better defined features than humans, making them somewhat
more attractive.

Elves can excell in any guild if they apply themselves.
Feigi
~~~~~
Feigi or fey folk, are true clairvoyants and empaths.  They
keep to their own kind and form small groups of illuminati.
They are extremely intelligent and wise, using their mental
capabilities to their fullest potentials.  They become very
hostile when they feel they have been threatened and turn
into raving lunatics in their pursuit of revenge.  Feigi are
originally decendant from elves and have retained many of the
physical characteristics of these ancestors.  Yet through the
years their ears have become rounded and their eyes are somewhat
bulging.

Feigi make excellent psions, mages and clerics, passable
(yet somewhat weak) fighters and unstable thieves.  Their
bardic skills are all together lacking.
Gnome
~~~~~
Gnomes are kin to dwarves, but they are much smaller than their
distant cousins. Gnomes like to maintain that it is not only
their height that is smaller, but they are also much less
rotund than dwarves. Gnomes live a happy life, but tend to shy
away from the larger humanoids. Gnomes are generally very
intelligent as well as quick.

Gnomes make excellent mages with their high intelligence.  Their
superb dexterity make them excellent thieves as well.  Their below
average wisdom make them passable as clerics, and their low strength
and constitution rather poor fighters.  There has been no recorded
gnome psion or bard in Astarian history.
Halfelf
~~~~~~~
Halfelves are the most common mixed-race beings in the realm. They
are a cross between human and elves. To be considered a halfelf,
one must have at least fifty percent elven ancestry. Halfelves
resemble their elven ancestors in appearance, being thinner and
less physically built than humans, but having a much greater sense
of agility.

Halfelves, being half human, can be most professions.  They make
good mages and thieves, and average clerics and fighers.  Their
low charisma makes it difficult for them to be bards and their
average intelligence does little for them as a psion.
Human
~~~~~
Humans are the basic race in the land of Astaria. They are normal
in every sense of the word. Due to their vastly varied nature, they
can become anything they wish, be it mage, thief, fighter, etc.
Humans are not, however, superb in any one area. They are more of
a jack of all trades. Humans are the standard by which all other
races are based.

Humans, being the standard by which other races are measured,
can excel in any profession they choose, providing they apply
themselves and work hard to improve their skills.
Lacertain
~~~~~~~~~
Lacertain are a vicious reptilian/human crossbreed who's physical
strength and endurance are legendary.  Lacertain have under-
developed mental capabilities but are fierce combat warriors.
Lacertain are bloodthirsty fighters who react by instinct
and exhibit little regard for those outside their race.
Thus, they consider themselves the ultimate warriors due to their
brute strength and sheer physical force.

Physically, Lacertain resemble humans in almost everyway,
except for their glistening armor-like scaled skin and prominent
lower jaw.  They have keen eyesight and excellent hearing.  Most
sport a long mane of hair.  Lacertain can only be clerics and
fighters.
Romanae
~~~~~~~
The Romanae love and live life to its fullest, admiring beauty and
valuing true artistic talent above all else.  Their graceful, lithe
bodies inflame passions when they dance or sing, often while light-
ening the purses of their audience at the same time.  Romanae are
wanderers, usually never staying long in any one place.
Romanae come in all sizes, shapes and complexions, and are on the whole,
stunningly beautiful or handsome. Romanae prefer to use their cunning
skill and wit over physical violence.

They are superb bards and thieves with their naturally high charisma and
physical dexterity.  A few have dabbled in the magick arts and some are
even clairvoyant.  Some have even taken the time to study the healing arts
and are experts in herbology.
Salandrine
~~~~~~~~~~
Salandrine are a human/salamandrin crossbreed that have a natural
resistance to fire and are in touch with the mystical powers of
the elements. Salandrine are normally docile beings, with smooth,
soft, yet durable scaleless skin.  They tend to excell in all
things having to do with the elements and forces of life.
Salandrine are fascinated by fire and attracted to water.  They
are excellent swimmers.  Physically they tend to be smaller and
slighter than normal humans with vivid colored eyes and hair.

Salandrine are agile fighters and successful thieves.  They make
for passable mages, limited only by their slightly inferior mental
capabilities.  Their limited intellect is unsuitable for the life
of a psion and their underdeveloped voices (which tend to be rather
squeaky) rather dismal bards.
Waeccan
~~~~~~~
Waeccan are small, agile beings with pixie-like features that often
keep to themselves.  They prefer the solitary life until the time
comes to choose a mate and they then travel as a small family unit.
The size of the Waeccan is deceptive to its enemy.  They can strike
lightning fast, often killing a foe before it realizes it has been
attacked.  Tis a rare Waeccan that stands over four feet in height.
The Waeccan's keen eyesight, lightning fast movements and rapier sharp
wit make them amusing company, when they feel compelled to interact with
others.  They can be charming and disarming, while deciding if you are
worth the effort to kill.

Waeccan for the most part have dark complexions, dark hair and striking
dark eyes.  They blend into the shadows easily.  Waeccan make superb
thieves, agile fighters and would never be a mage, psion or bard.
