I: The WEAPONS...and their secrets

It's well known that the US version of Final Fantasy 7 has two new creatures, the Emerald and the Ruby WEAPON. They are both near impossible to defeat if you aren't equiped right, so I'll dedicate this section to defeating these hard creatures.

    Items needed:

The way that I beat the WEAPONS worked very well, so I'll tell you what you would need to have to even stand a chance.

    3 Mime Materias
1 or more Knights of the Round Materia or Master Summon Materia
1 or more W Summon Materias
    3 Final Attack Materias
3 Revive Materias that are up to Life 2 or 3 Phoenix Materias
1 or more Full Cure Materias
A Restore Materia ( Just in case )
6 or more Mastered HP and MP Plus Materias ( Even if you are at Level 99 )
The Ultima Sword ( Cloud's best weapon )
    Some All Materias
The Underwater Materia ( You can get this by Morphing a Ghost Ship in the Underwater Walkway in
the Junon Submarine Base and when you get the Guidebook, give it to the
			     man in Kalm )

First, I decided to go to a great place to max out all of my character's levels. This should take a few hours, depending upon what Materia you have and where you go to level up. Once you are at level 99 for all of the three members you want to bring into battle, equip them with the following...

Final Attack - Revive / Phoenix Materia
W Summon - Knights of the Round
At least 1 Mastered HP Plus and Mastered MP Plus Materia on everyone
    One Mime Materia per character
    Restore - All Materia
    Underwater Materia

And whatever else you want to equip on them. You can distribute the other
Materias as you wish, seeing as how the Full Cure Materia will come in handy
when you are about to die! The Underwater Materia will get rid of the time
limit when you fight Emerald WEAPON, but you might not need it. Get it just
in case!

I went after the Emerald WEAPON first, so you can deside. The Emerald
WEAPON is easier I think, but you can do what you want. When you are ready,
it's time to attack the WEAPONS!

How to Defeat the Emerald WEAPON:

Equip your characters as described above. Then, go get your submarine and
head for Junon. Once there, go under water. The Emerald WEAPON will be
swimming around and all you need to do is to touch it. I suggest you save
before you do this, just in case the Emerald WEAPON does something unexpected
...

First, I think you should cast Regen on everyone. This will help you
even if the Emerald WEAPON does about 6000 - 7000 HP damage to one of your
party members. After that, have the person in your party with the W Summon
Materia and the Knights of the Round Materia to cast...Knights of the Round!
After you cast both of them, wait until your next character gets a turn and
use the Mime ability to recast Knights of the Round TWICE and the character
that uses the mime doesn't lose ANY MP! Keep this up and in no time, the
Emerald WEAPON will be nothing more than useless scrap! If it kills all of
your party members, the Final Attack - Revive / Phoenix Materia will save you
( See! It IS important! ) from doing this all over again! Once you win, you
can get the Earth Harp, which is useless until you give it to the Kalm
traveler...

How to Defeat the Ruby WEAPON:

Basically, I had Cloud in my party ( You have no choice ) and two other
characters. You MUST equip Cloud with his ultimate weapon! This DOES do
something more than do a lot of damage!

You should also equip Cloud with the W Summon - Knights of the Round
Materia. Also a Full Cure Materia and some HP and MP Plus Materias just to be
safe. Be sure that you are well equiped! Also equip a Ribbon to avoid
unnecesary status ailments! Make sure that you have a lot of Turbo Ethers
and X-Potions! They should help you when you are on the verge of death!
Also equip a Mime Materia.

You should save the game and then attack the Ruby WEAPON, which is in the
desert near the Gold Saucer. I usually keep reseting the game until Cloud is
the one person that fights the Ruby WEAPON. This really helps you out. DON'T
ATTACK WHEN THE RUBY WEAPON'S ARMS ARE NOT IN THE GROUND! Otherwise, it will
do 0 damage and prompt him to cast Ultima. It isn't worth it.

When the Ruby WEAPON puts it's arms in the sand, attack using the W
Summon - Knights of the Round Materia. After you cast it both times, the Ruby
WEAPON will attack you with Ultima. If you have Cloud's Ultima Sword equiped,
the spell can miss you entirely! It WILL hit you sometimes, but it actually
protects you! Keep repeating until your HP and / or MP falls low and take
some Turbo Ethers or X-Potions to help. You should always target the Ruby
WEAPON, not his arms. After about 7 or 8 minutes, the Ruby WEAPON shall be no
more! You get the Desert Rose for this difficult battle. Trade it and see
what you get...

II: Locations of Ultimate Weapons

Why would you want these weapons? Well, basically because they do massive
amounts of damage and also have 8 Materia spots! Unfortunately, there is a
down side to this. When you have the Ultimate Weapon equiped on a certain
character, then your Materia can't grow, thereby forcing you to use only
Mastered Materia in those slots.

Some weapons are easy to find, whereas others are much harder to obtain.
Every character has an Ultimate weapon.

Cloud: On Disc 3, locate the Ultimate WEAPON and attack it. You'll
have to fight it, but don't worry, it's not too tough. Attack until it flies
away and then chase after it. After a few more battles, it will head for
Cosmo Canyon for the final battle. Defeat it there, and you will get the
Ultima Weapon, which can sometimes protect you from the Ultima spell.

Extra: If you equip one of the members in your party with an Enemy Skill
Materia, there is a chance that you can learn the enemy skill, 'Shadow
Flare'!

Barret: When you are about to fight Hojo near the end of the game, you
can find Barret's Missing Score on the staircase. You only are able to see
it and get it if Barret is in your party, so make sure to do so.

Tifa: If you ask the workers to dig for 'Normal Treasure' in Bone
Village and ask them to search near where the first guy in green is digging
on the lower level, you should get the 'Key to Sector 5'. When you get it,
go back into Midgar and go to Wall Street. Remember that old Item Shop that
had the machine that shot at you? Go over to it and it will give you Tifa's
Premium Heart, just before it breaks down again.

Aeris: This is the first Ultimate Weapon you should be able to find.
In the Temple of the Ancients, go to the Clock Room puzzle. Once there, look
at the Roman Numerals and look for the door with the IV on it. Fix the clock
so you can go into that hallway. Once there, walk all the way through the
hallway and open the chest to find the Princess Guard.

Cait Sith: On your second trip back to Shinra HQ, go to the locker
room on floor 64. Open all the lockers until you find Cait Sith's HP Shout.

Cid: After you fire the rocket from Rocket Town at Meteor, go back
and talk to the guy right outside the Item Shop. If you talk to him a few
times, he will give you Cid's Venus Gospel.

Red XIII: After you take Bugenhagen to the Ancient City, check back
on Disc 3 to see Bugenhagen in Cosmo Canyon. After a touching scene, Red
XIII gets the Limited Moon ultimate weapon.

Yuffie: Once you reach the Gelnika, enter the engine room. There is a
treasure chest just hidden near the top left corner of the screen. Inside the
chest is Yuffie's Conformer.

Vincent: Near Corel, there is a waterfall right next to a lake. Use
either the submarine or a Gold or Black chocobo to reach the waterfall. You
HAVE to take Vincent in your party. You should go on Disc 2 and on Disc 3.
On Disc 3, you get Vincent's Death Penalty.

III: Locations of the Level 4 Limit Breaks

These are the BEST limit breaks any character can have. If you have
someone in your party, probably Cloud, on Disc 1 in your party with Aeris,
change her limit break level to level 2. If you use her Fury Brand, she
fills up the other two party member's limit break bars. This is GREAT for
hard boss battles!

Cloud: You can get Cloud's Omnislash in the Gold Saucer's Battle
Arena. Depending upon when you go, the BP amount cound change, but I would
get it as soon as possible! Try to get it on Disc 1.

Barret: After you either save or destroy North Corel from the train
with the Huge Materia, go talk to the woman in the house on the left side
of town and she will give you Barret's Catastrophe.

Tifa: You can get Tifa's Final Heaven by playing her song on the
piano in her house after Cloud gets himself back together. You have to have
Tifa and Cloud in your party though.

Aeris: You can get Aeris's Great Gospel by driving your Sand Buggy
into Costa del Sol and taking a ride on the Shinra ship in the docks to
Junon. Once there, take the helicopter taxi and leave Junon. Once you exit
Junon, the Buggy will be outside waiting for you! Drive through the shallow
area of the river near a cave near Junon and enter. Inside is a sleeping man.
If you talk to him for awhile, you can find out how many battles you have
fought in. Get the last two digits in the number to match, and the man will
give you some Mithril. Once you get that, go to Gongaga and look for a house
near the village on the world map. Go inside and give the man there the
Mithril and he will let you take something from either the large or small
treasure chest. Take what's in the small chest to get Aeris's Great Gospel.

Cid: In the Gelnika, check the Cargo Bay and you should easily find
Cid's Highwind Limit Break.

Red XIII: You can get Red's Cosmo Memory Limit Break from the Shinra
Mansion in Nibleheim. Use the combination on the safe and fight Lost Number.
When you defeat it, you get Red's Cosmo Memory and the Odin Materia.

Yuffie: All you have to do is defeat Yuffie's father on the top
floor of the pagoda in Wutai to get Yuffie's All Creation Limit Break.

Vincent: Go to the waterfall near the lagoon on Disc 3 with Vincent
in your party and you will get his Chaos Limit Break.

IV: The Enemy Skill, Chocobuckle

Right now I bet most of you are guessing if this is even a real enemy
skill. Well, it is! It's hard to get, but it might be worth your effort, if
you want a Master Enemy Skill Materia.

First, get the Level 4 Suicide Enemy Skill from the Mu creatures outside
of the Chocobo stables. Once you have this, make sure that you equip the
Sense Materia. You'll need it.

After that, go to a spot with chocobo prints with a few Mimett Greens,
about 10 if you don't get this to work the first time. Then, get into a
fight in which there is a chocobo amongst your enemies. Use the Sense
command to make sure that the chocobo is at level 16. If not, try again.
If it is, then feed 3 Mimett Greens to it. YOu have to act fast! Once the
chocobo eats them, cast Level 4 Suicide. This will prompt the chocobo to
cast Chocobuckle on the person who cast Level 4 Suicide, who will then learn
Chocobuckle!

V: The Kalm Traveler

In Kalm, there is a man who will ask you for three items on Disc 2 and
3. He requests the Guidebook, the Desert Rose, and the Earth Harp. If you
give him even one of these items, he gives you a VERY special gift that
will help you!

The Guidebook is somewhat easy to get. First, you need to go to the
Underwater section of the Submarine Base in Junon. Once there, try to fight
a Ghost Ship. When you fight it, try to Morph it. If you succede, then you
will win the Guidebook! Give the Guidebook to the Kalm traveler and he will
give you the Underwater Materia, which when you fight the Emerald WEAPON,
will remove the 20 minute timer from the upper left hand corner of the
screen.

The next item is the Earth Harp. This item can be won just by beating
the Emerald WEAPON, by which no easy task. If you follow the directions in
part 1, then you should be able to beat it. When it is defeated, you should
give the Earth Harp to the Kalm traveler to receive the Master Magic, Master
Summon, and the Master Command Materia!

The final item to get is the Desert Rose. You have to kill the Ruby
WEAPON for this item. Follow the instructions in part one to kill it with
relative ease. When you get the Desert Rose, bring it to the Kalm traveler
once again ( tedious, isn't it? : ) ) to get... a GOLD CHOCOBO!!!

VII: Good Places to Level Up

There are a few good places to level up in Final Fantasy 7, but most
of them can't be found or used until later in the game. Fortunately, there
are ways of getting there early and building your levels to astronomical
levels. Here's a few places...

The first place that I go to level up AP in the beginning of the game
after you leave Midgar is in the Marsh, by fighting Midgar Zoloms! I'll
tell you how to defeat these creatures with relative ease...after the
challenge is over!

Keep this up and you will have powerful magic spells in the beginning
of the game! I'm also trying to figure out how to kill one at lower levels
without dying and also to learn the Beta Enemy Skill, which is a strong
skill for this point in the game! I'll keep you updated!

Another good place to level up would be right on the coastline of
Mideel. You should fight a Sea Worm. Don't worry, these things creatures
can't really hurt you. You can steal some Dragon Scales from it though,
which is VERY useful if you are having problems in the Battle Square
on Disc 1! They cause about 3000 HP of damage! You can get a lot of
Gil and Experience points from these creatures, so keep fighting them!

The final level up place would be inside the Crater on Disc 3.
It's very easy to do, but you need a LOT of Elixirs! First, you have
to fight these creatures called Magic Pots. When you do, use an elixir
on them. They will then drop their invulnerability and you can kill them.
Once they are destroyed, you get a whopping 1000 AP!!! Build up your
Knights of the Round and Mimic Materia here!

VII: Chocobo Breeding

This is probably one of the more difficult things to do in Final Fantasy
7. First, you have to buy a Chocobo Lure Materia from Choco Billy. Then, you
have to go to Choco Bill and buy at least 4 or more stables. If you can't,
earn more money and then buy them. You'll need a HUGE amount of Gil for
Chocobo breeding, but it's worth it! Try winning the Gil Plus Materia in the
Wonder Square also. It'll help!

After you do all of that, it's time to find some chocobos! I personally
take along some of the cheapest greens in order to use on the chocobos to
catch them. If your party is at high levels, then you don't need to worry
about waiting too long.

Try catching 'Excellent' chocobos near the Icicle Inn chocobo tracks.
It should be to the east of the town. You should also try the chocobo area
near Mideel for some 'Good' or 'Great' chocobos.

Once you have your chocobos, send them to the sstables and prepare to
see the chocobo sage. His house is somewhere around Icicle Inn, in a cave
which is only reachable with the Highwind right now. Go in and talk to his
chocobo. He'll give you a Materia! Then, talk to the chocobo sage. Check
back periodically to gain more information about chocobo breeding. After all
of that, buy some greens from him. Do you see those ( Gulp! ) 5000 Gil
greens? Yes, you should buy about 30 of those...for each chocobo! Isn't it
expensive?! It's worth it though!

With your greens, head back towards the chocobo stables and select
which chocobos you want in the stalls. Try to get a 'Great' Male and Female
chocobo in the stalls. Once there, name them and feed them the greens until
all of their abilities are maxed out. Once they are, enter them at the
chocobo races and race them until they get to A class or S class. Once you do
that, it's time for them to breed...

You will need a Carob nut that you steal from a Red creature that
resembles a dinosaur near Bone Village. Keep walking around until you get
about 5 Carob nuts, just in case you screw up. After that, SAVE YOUR GAME!
You'll need to!

Back at the chocobo stables, mate your chocobos, select which ones,
chose the Carob nut, and then have them mate. Once you do that, you should
get a blue male or female chocobo, or a green male or female chocobo. At this
point, earn more Gil and buy more of those greens. Then build up your new
chocobo, and finally race him. Once you are done with that, it should be time
to mate those two other chocobos you had earlier. Once you mate them, keep
reseting the game until you get the chocobo that is the opposite of the
chocobo you have! If you have a blue male, try to get a green female.

After this, you can talk to Chole at the chocobo stables so that she
could write down everything the chocobo sage told you. After doing this, go
buy more greens and try to capture an 'Excellent' chocobo near Icicle Inn.
After all of that, you are almost ready to breed again. If not, just max out
the 'Excellent' chocobo's levels, then race it so you can save time.

If it's time to mate, then mate the blue and green chocobos you have,
using the Carob nut. Once you do, you should get...a black chocobo! Make sure
that you get one that is the opposite sex than the 'Excellent' chocobo! Max
out his levels too with the expensive greens and race him. Now, you are
almost finished!

At this point, go to the small island that is basically a forest in
the Northwest area of the world map. You need the Highwind for this. When
you go there, steal a Zeio nut from the goblins you fight there. Get a few
because you might want more than one of the upcoming chocobos.

Now, you have to release the first two yellow chocobos you have.
Sorry, but you need the room! Now, using the Zeio nut, mate the 'Excellent'
and the black chocobo for...the golden chocobo! Max out his levels, and also
race him, and you should easily make it to S class! Have fun with this
chocobo! If you have enough time, you can also mate the two chocobos again
for a second golden chocobo! With your new chocobos, get the Materias from
those caves that you couldn't get before, such as the Mime Materia and the
Knights of the Round Materia!

VIII: Other Secrets

Well, there are some other things that I can throw in here that
might help you...

In the Speed Square in the Golden Saucer, you can gain the Umbrella,
a weapon for Aeris, by getting 5000 points or more! It's not her best
weapon, but equip it on her and look at it during a battle...

Another weird weapon is the Pinwheel for Yuffie. I think that you can
buy it in Cosmo Canyon. It isn't really powerful, but, like the Umbrella,
just look at it...

Do you want more Sources, like the Guard Source and such? Well, in the
crashed Gelnika, you can morph all the enemies to get various Sources!

Even more! You can have Cid snowboard at the Golden Saucer's Wonder
Square! I forgot how, but I think he has to be the leader of your party when
you go help Cloud on Disc 2. After you help Cloud in Mideel, then go to the
Golden Saucer with Cecil and Cid in your party and go to the snowboard game.
I'm not 100% sure if this works, though.

You can have Tifa or Cid ride the chocobos that you breed in the Chocobo
Square! Just have them in your party with Cloud on Disc 2 or later, and
occasionally they will ask to ride! I don't know if this affects the chocobos
however.

Do you want a Cursed Ring? Steal one from the Ultimate WEAPON on Disc 3,
or when you are in Mideel on Disc 1. First, go behind the man in the shop
that has that locked door. Next, search around and you will find a key. Use
it on the door and then talk to the shopkeeper. He should give you the Cursed
Ring.

You want more secrets?! Well, I'll keep putting them up when I find
them! Until I find more, I guess that's it! Wait! There is one more! You can
look in a room at the Honey Bee Inn, and if you look at the lower left or
right corner, you should be able to see a miniature Cait Sith!
