The year is 2040. Just before the destruction of the Cydonian brain, near the year 2000, a Tachyon beam emerged from Mars and plunged right into Earth's ocean. This beam turned to be a wake up call for an ancient colony ship that crashed into the Earth's ocean millions of years ago. Now, the dormant aliens have prepared themselves for a massive invasion in order to conquer earth and to use the human race as slaves and to experiment genetic mutations in order to reach "the perfect race".

X-COM had become a myth in those days. When the first alien war was over, the governments claimed that they had defeated the aliens and that they had stopped the invasion. X-COM was shutdown, soldiers where decommissioned and most of its technology sold. Now, the truth was only starting to get out when officers where being called back by the United Nations all around the globe, and no one knew why. And Then it started, again...

At first, newscast heard about cruise vessels and shipping routes being boarded by aliens. They probably thought that the "Bermuda Triangle" effect was repeating itself, but this time they were wrong. And soon enough they admitted it... Earth was going to war again, but this time underwater. X-COM was reinstated into its functions and experimental underwater platforms were putted to test. The best scientists, engineers and soldiers were gathered together so that X-COM could have only but the best. Financial support came from every organizations and companies where offering their equipment and were ready to loan them their latest prototypes such as the Barracuda and the Triton, two submarines both capable of operating underwater and in atmospheric conditions (in the air).

Now, only one element will determine everything: the Commander. Who is the Commander? you will ask. If you dare challenge the Dreamer, you can be the Commander. But the real question is: Do you think you have what it takes to command X-COM ? To find out, download the demo of X-COM: Terror From The Deep.
