Daghdha the Wise

Daghdha {daw'-duh} - he is the god of fertility, crops and druids. Daghdha is one of the eldest of the gods and due to his wisdom, power and years he enjoys a position of leadership within the pantheon.
In the Garaleyern religion Daghdha (Dagda, "the good god") was the god of the druids (the priestly class) and of warriors as well. He controlled the heavens, the climate, and time and was the protector of contracts, friendship, and those things necessary for the orderly functioning of society. His wife was Morrighan ("the great queen"). With Lugh and Oghma, Daghdha helped organise the victorious war of the Tuatha De Danann (the divine ancestors of the Garaleyern people) over their enemies, the Fomoire. Daghdha's stronghold was said to have been the Bruigh na Boinne but according to legend, he was tricked into surrendering it to his son Oenghus (Mac ind Og).
Roleplaying Notes
Daghdha, despite his authority is still a jovial figure and is interested in the welfare of the Garaleyern peoples. He can act as a stern and wise advisor or comical entertainer what ever his mood dictates. He has a weakness for women and can be quite the charmer. He has been known to send his avatar onto the battlefield when opponents of his peoples have been attacking and use his charms on important female figures on the enemies side. He has also been known to send his avatar during times of pestilence or crop failure.
