An assassination attempt has
been made on the life Duke Stephen Hawkings of Shallowdale. The attempt
was made whilst the Duke was out on a hunt in the early morning of the
12 Elm.
Sir Stephen took an arrow to
the chest but was fortunate to survive.
It is not yet clear whether
the attempt was made in connection to the civil war or due to a personal
quarrel with the Sir Stephen.
The assassin was not found.
The adventuring group known as
the Blades have disappeared after investigating a strange vessel of the
north-west coast of Irenayer.
The ship was of a strange design
and seemed to be made of a dark wood and gold.
The last known whereabouts of
the Blades was in Corey’s Cove. As to where they are now can only be guessed
at.
Their patron Colm Murphy has
dismissed rumours that they may indeed be dead.
Once again the Wiccam Wanderers
have been very busy. If a little fragmented. Membership of the group has
constantly been changing with only three members of the original group
still there. (Bethany the Fair, James the Green and Domonic the Wise).
The group has been journeying
a great amount in recent times though most of what they have been doing
has been secretive. On one occasion it is believed that they travelled
to Ronayer on a mission for the church. On another they set sail from Seanand
to a destination unknown.
For a short while reports came in that James the Green was actually dead. But there have now been recent sitings of him that prove to the contrary. Some say James has actually gone else where seeking patronage for his magic. Rumours as to who is aiding him are sporadic but the most popular is that he is now a pupil of Galin the Arcane.
Bethany the Fair has recently joined the church of Arawn. In doing so she has surprised a great many people but it is believed that she has recently had quite a few brushes with Death. That and her known dislike of Undead is said to have pushed her into the decision to join the church.
It seems Domonic of Wiccam has
made several enemies in recent years. Several attempts were made on his
life in his home village of Wiccam. Domonic managed to escape death but
unfortunately several villagers did not fair so well. The village headman
and cleric both died in the attacks.
Domonic has been seen in the
Kings court on several occasions now and is said to be working for the
Crown.
After all these events whether
Domonic will go on and gain promotion in the Church or settle down to be
the Cleric for Wiccam are still yet to be seen.
The appearance of the Avatar
of Diancecht has been seen in Vordurn. For several hours he travelled through
the city healing the ill whether it be man or beast. On several occasions
he held up a mouse which he had blessed and healed which seemed to signify
his will to heal all from the meek to the bold. Since this event a new
cult of Diancecht has sprung up in Vordurn with the image of a mouse as
its symbol. The cult is still small and has not been recognised by the
Holy Order of the Oak.
Once again the Avatar seemed
to bear the appearance of Domonic of Wiccam.
A tragic event has occurred in
the Travellers Inn which lies in the county of Harrowdale. Every occupant
was brutally massacred and left dead in what seems a completely unexpected
attack.
A single man lived long enough
to describe the villain who performed such a despicable deed. He was described
as a tall figure cloaked in a large, dark, hooded robe. His face was concealed
within the hood. From within the hood could be seen two glowing green lights
where the eyes are usually placed. The man, if man it was carried a large
longsword that seemed to give off a feint aura and was almost ethereal.
Authorities have promised to perform a thorough investigation into the
event but it seems unlikely that they will get anywhere.
Local hero Simon Dole was one
of the men found dead in the inn.
Sir Christopher Darkmoor has once again come to blows with Allister the Black. Sir Christopher seems to have an uncanny knack for tracking down the usually elusive necromancer. Allister escaped once again but not before taking a wound to his arm and his pride.
The Garaleyern Press have expanded
their publication influence and have decided to produce a column
called Keeping an Eye on...
The column will interview notable
people and try to have answered the questions each citizen wishes to know.
The first article (Keeping an Eye on Pelanor Darkwing) can be found free
