Weekend Rumble
February 6, 1999, Sydney, Nova Scotia.

(The Weekend Rumble opening plays. The IWA logo plays and the music plays as the opening continues. The logo spins off screen and the camera switches to a shot of sold out arena. The fans cheer wildly as the camera switches to a shot of the ringside commentators' booth with Rick Miller and Eddie Reagan sitting in their seats.)

Rick: Hello and welcome fans to yet another addition of Weekend Rumble!

Eddie: Rick, tonight's my birthday!

Rick: No one cares, Eddie. Tonight, fans, we have a full plate for you. Our main event will feature Snow Wolf in action against our defending champion, Apollo, in a NeWA Canadian title match. Also Tanis will defend his IWA Heavyweight title against Todd Remmington.

Eddie: Who?

Rick: Todd Remmington.

Eddie: Who?

Rick: Todd Re . . nevermind, Eddie, it doesn't matter. If Todd wins, it would be the upset of the century, let's just put it that way. Also tonight, the IWA Tag team champs will return to the IWA for a match against the Serial Thrillaz and Dan Benson will face off against Rukus in a judged match.

Eddie: Judged? What is this? No hardcore?

Rick: You know, Eddie, this is a wrestling show. Why not have a pure wrestling match? Well, fans, we're going to kick off the show with a Nighthawk vs. Nighthawk match. Vukota and Buzz Tyler.

Eddie: Ooh, this should be interesting.

Vukota vs. Buzz Tyler

(The Nighthawk theme starts as Vukota makes his way to ringside accompanied by the IWA Heavyweight champion, Tanis. The crowd boos relentlessly. The theme continues without stopping as Buzz Tyler comes down to ringside to a much better response, a mixture of cheers and boos. The bell sounds and Tyler walks to the middle of the ring. He lays down and motions for Vukota to pin him. Vukota looks very angry and charges at Buzz to stomp him, but Tanis is up on the apron. Tanis stops Vukota with a signal and points at Tyler. Vukota, still very flustered, nods, then pins Buzz, 1….2….3.)

Your winner, Vukota, in 0:23

Eddie: Well, that sucked.

Rick: Why do we even bother setting up these Nighthawk vs. Nighthawk matches? Fans, I apologize. Let's just take a break and when we come back, we'll have some real action for you.

Rick: Okay, fans, our next match will feature the newly crowned WCCW Television champion, Dan Benson, in action against Rukus.

Eddie: With judges and crap.

Rick: Eddie, yeah, with judges. And you and I are two of them.

(The IWA theme music plays as President Mike Vincent and Vice President Patrick Moore make their way to the commentator's booth. Mike and Patrick sit next to Rick and Eddie. They both put headsets on.)

Mike: Okay, we're here to judge this match. And, joining us will be the NeWA International champion, Adam Fierce!

(Fierce's music plays as much of the crowd stands. He walks to the commentator's booth with the International belt on his shoulder and sits down. He puts on a headset.)

Adam: Okay, let's see what these two youngsters can do.

Rick: Fans, this match will consist of ten minute matches. There will be no pinfall or submission. The first to win two of these matches will be the winner.

Judged match
Dan Benson vs. Rukus
First fall

(Rukus comes out first to a good sized applause. Then, the Nighthawk theme starts up, and Da Man Dan Benson makes his way to ringside accompanied by Classy Eddie Blazzy. The boos are very loud as the bell sounds. Benson starts out with an arm drag, then locks on a loose arm bar. Rukus squirms out of it, but Dan stays on him and locks on a half-nelson hold. He tries to change it to a full nelson, but the ref stops him.)

Adam: In this type of match, full nelson's are an illegal hold.

(Rukus is stuck. He can't manage to power his way out of the hold. Dan taunts him as he bears down on it, slapping the back of Rukus' head. Finally, after almost four minutes, Dan releases the hold and brings Rukus to his feet. He hits a belly-to-belly suplex, then Rukus rolls to his feet. The two men circle each other.)

Rick: Even though I'm impartial in this match, I must say that Rukus is being severely beaten.

(The two men lock up again. Rukus locks on a side headlock, but Dan turns it into a belly-to-back suplex. He gets on the man and locks on a single leg breaker. The bell sounds. Dan walks back to his corner, laughing and smiling.)

Rick: That's the end of the first match. Let's go through and judge the first fall. I would say Dan Benson.

Eddie: Benson, no question.

Mike: I'd have to say Dan won that fall.

Patrick: I agree.

Adam: No question. He showed Rukus what wrestling is all about there.

Second fall

(The bell sounds, starting the second fall. Rukus runs out of the corner and initiates contact with Benson. He knees Benson in the groin. The ref steps in and tells him to get back. Rukus laugh as Benson lies in a hump on the mat. Several seconds pass before Benson is ready to go. Rukus goes low and dives out his legs. He hooks both legs and tries to turn it into a boston crab, but Benson uses his arms to hold onto Rukus' legs. Rukus finally settles for a catapult type maneuver and Benson goes face first into the turnbuckle. Rukus hits a dazed Benson with a back bodydrop, then locks on a reverse chinlock.)

Eddie: Hey, look at this. Benson's losing.

(Classy Eddie distracts the ref from the apron as Benson gets in a eye poke and several right hands. The ref turns around. Benson goes to work with his half nelson hold again. Rukus gets a foot on the ropes. The two get to their feet. They lock up again. Benson overpowers him and hits a reverse Russian leg sweep. The bell sounds.)

Rick: A much closer match that time. I'll go ahead and say Rukus.

Eddie: No way! Dan Benson won that one with the power moves.

Patrick: I think Rukus took it.

Mike: It was close, but Rukus fought the sounder technical match.

Adam: Technical? Dan had him hurt and that's what counts. I say Benson.

Rick: Well, guys, that's a 3-2 advantage for Rukus. He wins the second fall. Let's get to the third.

Fall three

(The bell sounds and the two men circle each other. They lock up, but neither can get an advantage. They circle some more. They try and lock up again, but Benson ducks under and dives Rukus' legs. He hooks one, but Rukus keeps his other leg free. He uses it to trip Benson, then locks on an angle submission. Benson is quick to get to the ropes. They both get to their feet. They circle each other.)

Eddie: We have to judge this?

Rick: Shuttup, Eddie.

(Rukus charges forward, but Benson hits him with a drop toehold. Benson continues his momentum and locks on a single leg crab. Rukus has the ropes. They're both up. Benson comes forward, and Rukus is ready. He hits a big powerslam! Benson is stunned and rolls to his feet. The bell sounds. Both men raise their arms as if they had won.)

Rick: Well, jeez.

Eddie: I'm casting my vote for Rukus! That powerslam rocked the arena.

Adam: Yeah, but Dan was in control for most of the match other than that. I'll say Benson.

Rick: I'm going to go with Benson as well, guys. I hate to admit it, but he was the better technical wrestler tonight.

Patrick: Rukus hung in there, though. I think he won that fall.

Rick: Okay, Mike, that leaves it up to you. President, who won that fall?

Mike: I think . . .

Eddie: Come on! Who?

Mike: I think Rukus was the more courageous fighter. I'm casting my vote for him.

Your winner, Rukus, two falls to one

Rick: Oh! What an upset here tonight! Fans, we're going to take another break. When we come back, we'll have title matches!

___________________Commercials____________________

Rick: Okay, fans, this next match is for the IWA Tag Team titles.

IWA Tag Team title match
Serial Thrillaz vs. Hell's Angels(c)

(Shane Helms and Mike Maverick come to ringside first. Then, the IWA Tag Team champions, Fire and Hellbender, come down. The bell sounds and the ref holds both belts high. Fire and Helms start out. They lock up and Fire throws Shane into the ropes. Hellbender hits him with a knee as he hits the ropes and then Fire hits a dropkick. Helms goes sprawling from the ring. Fire goes and nails Maverick, knocking him from the apron as well. He holds up his arms in triumph.)

Rick: Wow, look at that emotion. The Hell's Angels came to fight tonight!

(Helms rolls back into the ring and hits Fire from behind. He drags him by the hair over to his corner and tags Mike Maverick. Maverick enters the ring and flattens Fire with a right hand. He picks him up and tosses him like a rag doll into his corner. He goes to work with knife-edge chops. He tags in Helms. Shane hops to the top turnbuckle and hits a bulldog. He goes for a cover, 1…2….kick out. Shane throws Fire into the ropes. Fire bounces back, then slides under Helms' legs. He kicks Shane in the midsection, then hits a DDT. Without hesitation, Fire runs to the ropes and executes a beautiful moonsault onto the downed Helms. He stays on for the cover, 1…..2….Maverick makes the save with a boot. That brings Hellbender into the ring. The ref stops Hellbender, though, and allows the Serial Thrillaz to go to work with boots to Fire's face. The ref turns around and makes Mike Maverick leave the ring.)

Eddie: Well, the experience of the Thrillaz is showing through here. We should have new champs.

(Helms hits a scoop slam, then heads for the top. He leaps off with a big elbow, but Fire rolls out of the way. Fire crawls to his corner and manages to tag Hellbender. Hellbender runs into the ring and nails Helms just before he tags Maverick. Hellbender stomps him down, then scoops him up and hits a very good piledriver. He keeps his momentum and nails a vertical suplex. Hellbender tags a still tired Fire, then tells Fire to go up top. Hellbender scoops up Helms and sets him up for another piledriver. Fire leaps off and, together, they nail a spike piledriver. Fire makes the cover as Hellbender cuts off Mike Maverick,1….2….3.)

Your winners, and still IWA Tag Team champions, Hell's Angels, in 13:34

Rick: Great match there. I'll tell you, the Hell's Angels are really impressive.

Eddie: What's with the Serial Thrillaz? They used to win more often.

Rick: Who knows, Eddie? Moving on, we've got an, uh, interesting matchup coming up next. Todd Remmington against . .

Eddie: Who?

Rick: Some loser against Tanis, okay? Are you happy, Eddie?

Eddie: No, I want to see good matches.

IWA Heavyweight title match
Todd Remmington vs. Tanis(c)

(Todd Remmington, one half of the Charmers, comes out first. He is very small and flirts with the ladies on his way up the aisle. He enters the ring and starts bouncing up and down, getting ready.)

Eddie: Oh, this guy? He sucks.

(Then the Nighthawk theme plays as the crowd stands and boos. Tanis comes out with the IWA Heavyweight title around his waist. He's wearing a Nighthawk leather jacket, blue jeans, and stylish sunglasses. He enters the ring and takes a mic out from the inside pocket of his jacket.)

Rick: He's not even in his wrestling gear. This is a disgrace.

Tanis: You know, it's good to be the champ!

(The crowd boos loudly.)

Tanis: Tonight, I face my most accomplished opponent to date. Todd, however it goes tonight, let it be known that I think you're a hell of a competitor and a terrific technical brawler. Hah. So, Kristian Chaos, I dedicate this match to you.

(Tanis tosses the mic out of the ring and takes off his leather jacket. The ref holds the IWA Heavyweight title up high, then calls for the bell. Todd runs at Tanis, but Tanis nails a huge lariat. Tanis sighs, takes off his sunglasses, and slides them out of the ring. Todd gets up and tries to hit Tanis with a right hand. Tanis blocks it, then knocks Todd down with a big right hand.)

Rick: This just isn't fair.

(Tanis scoops up Remmington and nails a crushing over-the-shoulder piledriver. The move is devasatating and knocks Todd Remmington right out. Tanis walks around the ring, gloating and pointing at the fans. Todd doesn't move. Finally, after about twenty seconds, Remmington starts to stir. Tanis walks over to him, hooks a leg, and turn him over. He sits down on the Hawk's Talon. Remmington taps out immediately.)

Your winner, and still IWA Heavyweight champion, Tanis, in 3:01

(Tanis doesn't let go of the hold. He bears down on it, laughing as Todd screams out in pain. Tanis continues as the ref tries to pull him off. Finally, security enters the ring and pulls Tanis off. Tanis rolls out of the ring as medics come into the ring to tend to the very much hurt Todd Remmington. Tanis gets a hold of a mic.)

Tanis: (laughing) Like I said, I have nothing but the utmost respect for you, Todd!

(He laughs out loud as the mic falls from his hand.)

Rick: Tanis shows us why he's the most hated man in the IWA.

Eddie: At least we won't see Todd Remmington in action for awhile.

(The doctors have slid Todd onto a stretcher and carry him to the back.)

Rick: Well, fans, next up is our main event, a match between Snow Wolf and Apollo for the NeWA Canadian title. When we come back from break, it's main event time!

___________________Commercials____________________

NeWA Canadian title match
Snow Wolf vs. Apollo(c)

(The bell sounds three times.)

Ring announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, we've arrived at the main event. It's for the NeWA Canadian championship. So here we go!

(The crowd applauds.)

Ring announcer: The challenger now coming to the ring dresses in an entirely black outfit in memory of his late manager. He is the SnowWolf!

(Snow Wolf comes to the ring to a good sized applause. He enters the ring and raises his arms, then motions to his waist where the belt willgo.)

Ring announcer: And the champion, one of the most accomplished wrestlers currently in the NeWA, the NeWA Canadian champion, Apollo!

(Apollo comes out from the back, the NeWA Canadian title around his waist. He enters the ring with a big smirk and gives the belt to the ref. The ref holds the belt high, then calls for the bell. The two men lock up and Snow Wolf takes the early advantage with a knee lift. He grabs Apollo and sends him into the ropes. He follows and hits a lariat, sending Apollo to the floor. Snow Wolf quickly goes after him, but Apollo hits a low blow to take advantage. Apollo takes Snow Wolf by the hair and smashes his head against the ringpost. Apollo hits a scoop slam on the concrete. He then rolls back in the ring and gloats.)

Rick: Apollo is such a veteran. He used Snow Wolf's anticipation and anxiousness against him there before.

(Snow Wolf rolls into the ring, shakes off a boot, then leg dives Apollo. He gets on him and hits several right hands to the face. He then scoops him up and throws him into the ropes. Snow Wolf runs after him and hits a spinning kick. He goes for a cover, 1….2….kick out. Apollo gets to his feet, but Snow Wolf is on him, kicking him in the knees, then the midsection. Snow Wolf nails a snap suplex, then a leg drop. He goes for a cover, 1….2…kick out. Snow Wolf picks him up and throws Apollo into the corner. He goes to work with right and left hands, then picks him up and sets him on the turnbuckle. Snow Wolf leaps up and hits a Frankensteiner! Before he can make the cover, Apollo manages to roll out of the ring.)

Eddie: This is unbelievable. Snow Wolf is dominating.

Rick: Apollo better wake up here.

(Apollo gets up on the apron. Snow Wolf comes to grab him, but Apollo drops to the floor, dropping Snow Wolf over the top rope. Apollo rolls into the ring and starts choking the Snow Wolf. The ref comes to break up the hold, but Apollo leaps up and hits him with a back elbow.)

Rick: Oh, he knocked out the ref. Was that an accident?

Eddie: I don't think so.

(Apollo kicks Snow Wolf in the face, then reaches into his trunks and pulls out a set of brass knuckles. Snow Wolf gets to his feet only to get haymakered right between the eyes. Apollo takes off the illegal object, throws it into the crowd, wakes up the ref, and goes for a cover, 1….2…..3.)

Your winner, and still NeWA Canadian champion, Apollo, in 11:06

Rick: Well, what a disappoinment for Snow Wolf. He is continually being cheated out of victories.

Eddie: Well, that was a good veteran move by Apollo. He knew he was in trouble so he went dirty.

Rick: That's not good at all! Well, fans, until next time.

(Apollo celebrates in the ring as Snow Wolf walks down the aisle shaking his head. The copyright laws roll, the IWA logo appears on screen. The screen fades to black.)
