Blakrobe's page of music

Hmmmm.
As anyone who owns a TimesSquare homestead knows, TimesSquare is not a site for music....

But WHO cares!?!
I'm going to step around the problem by writing a list of songs I think are cool for roleplaying tracks.
Go to the mad house where this all started...
Email me if you have song suggestions!

Music for White Wolf's World of Darkness
music by The Cure- Someone else's Train.
A Forest
Wrong Number (it just sounds cool...)
Hanging Garden
Fascination Street (its really heavy, turn up the volume...!
Charlotte Sometimes (Nice wierd resonances etc...)
Want (a moral to the song, and it's gothy!!!)
Return (For when the Malkavian shows up)
music by offspring:
Come Out and Play
Bad Habit
What Happened to You?
Smash
Nitro
Kill The President
It'll be A Long Time
The Meaning of Life (for Mages)
The Kids Aren't Alright (for gritty and depressing street stories)

Music by R.E.M: So Fast, So Numb
Wake Up Bomb
How The Wild West Was Won And Where It Got Us- for Werewolf: The Wild West
or any story featuring Native American reservations.

Music by White Zombie:
More Human Than Human
Human Solution#009
Practically any other song of their's...

Music by Garbage: Supervixen (For cults)
Only Happy When It Rains
As Heaven is Wide
When I Grow Up (For pure thrashing goodness...)

Music by Tura Satana: Down
Six Feet Deep
Hypocrite
Eternalux

Music by Korn: Daddy
Adidas
Wicked (completely throw your players!!)
Twist. I dare you to work out what the lyrics are.

Music by Type O Negative:
Black No. 1 (For Hollow Ones and other Goths)
Kill All The White People (In general, but especially for extremist Uktena, Wendigo, and militant Dream Speakers)
We Hate Everyone (For Nephandi, Brujah, and Deviant characters)
Bloody Kisses (A nice little depressing song about suicide)

Music by The Steps: I'm just kidding, but if you want to worry your players,
Threaten them with the Line Spiral Dancers. It Scares *me*...

Music by Inkubus Sukkubus
A very good Pagan, semi-goth band. Very good for Werewolves or Wiccan mages. A few songs about vampires also.
Paint It Black (a cool cover)
Wake of the Christian Knights (for shadowing Inquisitors, if you dont like em. :)
Woman to Hare
Wounded.
Nymphomania (for Changelings, Satyrs)
Belladonna and Aconite (good for witches, as is Woman to Hare)

People are probably wondering why I haven't suggested Marilyn Manson yet. But frankly, it's an obvious choice, and anyway, he's a fake...
But if you insist, that Dope Show is good for stories about the state of the Media, and Rock is Dead just sounds cool... The Beautiful People will probably get played at games anyway... For non-obvious Manson songs, Dogma is a good one for Mage.

If you have a homepage about music (especially for Roleplaying Games), send me your URL, and if the site's good, I'll guarantee
a link...
The same goes for any Roleplaying site...

Music Suggested By Visitors

Music Suggested By Catherine Mitch

In her own words:

"Rasputina:
Transylvanian Concubine---good for any brujah brothel
Sign of the Zodiac-------------for all those disillusioned Mages out there
Trench Mouth-------------------lovely post worm butt-kicking party
The New Zero-------------------Introducing the newest pup to the Caern
(Three ladies with cellos and compassion)

Butthole Surfers:
Pepper------------------------------Silly Mortals
(all techy, just a tad silly, dark lyrics)

Portishead:
Wondering Stars------------Full of soul spirt and drum boxes....the Adepts
will love you
(Of the dark places, all techy, very smooth, female voice)

Sneaker Pimps:
Post modern Sleaze------like Wondering Stars only Angrier
Roll On-------------------------Questing music
Tesko Suicide--------------listen to it----it speaks for itself
(red with rage, grey with bitterness, innocent voice that whispers dark
stories over rivers, rapids and streams of synthesized noise)

Failure:
Daylight-----------------------Take the saying "rage against the dying of
the light" and make it your anthem
(through back to the mid-nineties when alternative was actually good, got
dusky lyrics)

Switchblade Symphony:
Clown--------------------------Ready to inter the land of the fay?
Wrecking Yard---------------Red caps here we come
(Hey if you haven’t heard them by now......)

Stabbing Westward
What do I have to do---Ghouls song
Why--------------------------I heard it was a common question in the After
life.
(Princes of Industrial....not to hard, not to soft, puts a bull’s-eye on
the heart of the audience)

Tammany Hall suggests: Crawlin by Linkin Park, citing the effect on a gathering of Malkavians as a good reasong.
I'd like to point out a few things, even though I do like this song:
1) Malkavians would go mad to the theme music of Days of Our Lives, let alone a nu-metal band.
2) Tammany also suggested playing the music and watching them go. If I were at a gathering of Malkavians, the list of places where I'd be safer would be quite long.
3) I think Papercut would also be a very suitable song for Vampire - the video is pretty cool. :)
