Well. A standard opening.
This is set in 1920s by the way, 1926 to be specific.
It was set in Arkham, and two of the players worked at Miskatonic. One was a Professor
of Mayan Culture, and another was a Proffessor of Archaeology. The remaining characters were a Dilletante
a novelist, and someone Ive forgotten... Oh yeah, The Catholic Priest.
Anyway, a friend of theirs at Miskatonic had gone mad.
They went to visit him at the Arkham Asylum. The Proffessor of Mayan Culture [Thats you Thuggy if you're reading this...]
promptly argued with the nurses about the conditions the inmates were kept in.
The group heard a terrible scream and rushed [the proffesser ofArchaeology slid on a slippery floor and hurt hsi head]
to the location of their friend. He was covered in ichor, and had large holes in him.
The Catholic Priest promptly went insane and also got locked up for three days before he recovered. He then developed Necrophobia.
A little note to Andy Christian - That was more appropriate than your suggestion of NECROPHILIA.
But we won't dwell on that. The remaining sane members [the novelist being *relatively* sane]
discovered wiry hair undr the poor man's nails, but found no evidence of how entry had been gained.
The priest later recovered, in time to attend the hearing of the Will with the other players.
The players were told that they had inherited his Mansion, near the coast, near Innsmouth.
Thuggy, playing the Proffessor of Mayan Culture, immediately reccommended burning the house
'before something nasty happens to us'...
When checking out the Mansion, The Mayan Proffessor, who was an unspoken leader, suggested the party leave
by car before dawn so that they would arrive at the mansion well before dark
Upon arriving there, the Mayan proffessor then checked the lights in case they didn't work.
This caused the light bulb to explode, and for a minute the others shouted at the Mayan Proffessor
until I revealed more light bulbs. Still, I thought it was funny.
They spent six months at the house, during which they discovered a shard of Obsidian, a Mayan Sorcerer's book,
and the diary of the deceased.
The group discovered [after grappling with my hand writing] that the Proffessor had seen something horrible that drove him insane.
The Mayan Proffessor was able to translate the Mayan book, and began learning some relevant spells.
They went back towards Arkham n a bus, following the explosion of their car by unknown hands
and the bus was forced to stop in Innsmouth when the bus was sabotaged and the driver shot.
The players stopped at a hotel, where they were attacked in the night by Deep Ones, who wanted Sacrafice.
They ended up shooting the Deep Ones, despite the opportunity for running away offered by very cunning windows in each room.
They killed everyone in the hotel because they had gills, and then hijacked a bus in the morning.
The group went back to Arkham, and narrowly avoided charges of mass murder.
They then cast a spell to learn what the Proffessor had seen, and the Mayan Proffessor saw a Hound of Tindalos.
The Hound attacked later, during this time, the characters enchanted some knives to attack the Hound.
However, when the Hound arrived, most went insane temporarily, and all ran away...
