Now I know this is a strange review seeing is all the other reviews have been rpgs, but I thought this place needed some more reviews and I couldn't think of any rpgs to review so here it is, Unreal Tournament. The plot is as such. In an effort to stop violence between the miners, bloody deathmatch sports were implamented. Most were underground matches but some were public. The creators of the events found that the public events was where they made the most money. Now, many years and over $150 000 000 000 later, the tournaments have become popular beyond anyones imagination. Your skill and ruthelessness are legendary. Can you survive the tournament?
Unreal Tournament boasts some pretty nice graphics, even on my crappy excuse for a PoS computer. No real problems with lag either. I haven't tried it online cuz well, I ain't allowed (long story which I am not about to repeat). It also has a bot feature, like Unreal which was one of the first games to have built in bots. The bots are a good enough challenge but no real threat for an expirienced gamer and sometimes don't always make the best teammates. For example, I had a perfect sniper shot, my site was aimed directly at his head. Waht does my bot do? Runs infront of the target and gets killed by him and in the process almost getting me killed by my target (he found me right after he killed my bot). Its not that bloody though, some people might be disappointed about that. It also has a nice selection of weapons, my favourite being the sniper rifle which combines power and not having to zoom out after every shot to empty the chamber, the problem with the sniper rifle from Action Quake 2. It is also relatively fast firing for a sniper rifle. I also found it funny that one of the boss's names was Xan (some of you might not get it, but hey) Anyway, this was Epic's answer to Quake 3 Arena, and it dfoes not fall short by any means. It also has many different game types, my favourite being Assault, where one team has to infiltrate the enemy's base and accomplish certain objectives under a time limit while the other team defends their base. AT the end, the rolls are reversed. |
