Figure it out...

I wanted to dedicate a small page to Tori Amos, my favorite musician. There are many excellent Tori pages out there, rich in news, song lyrics, sound and pictures. The Dent in the Tori Amos Net Universe is my favorite, but there are many other great pages devoted to the red headed piano goddess. You can stop by the other sites on the Tori ring for a good sampling (see the Tori ring icons at the bottom of this page). And be sure to visit the RAINN web page to learn about the worthwhile nonprofit organization Tori helped form.

Rather than try and duplicate the efforts of the other pages I wanted to do something a little unique for the Toriphiles out there. I wanted to create something utilizing my particular artistic talents and wit. This page consists of puzzles relating to all things Tori.

Puzzle #1 - The Tori Puzzle Box

Each of the items in the box represents the name of one of Tori's songs. Some are obvious, some are subtle and some quite tricky but the clever Toriphile well versed in all things Tori should be able to solve the puzzle. There are 72 official songs represented, although many folks have been giving very creative answers that are not on my official list of songs. You can view the puzzle at three different sizes. Choose according to your connection speed, monitor size and patience. Good luck and have fun!

Puzzle #2 - Tori By The Numbers

Created 7/27/97

I've noticed that Tori likes to mention a lot of numbers in her lyrics and so I've created a puzzle around that theme. Each of the numbers in the puzzle has been mentioned in one of Tori's songs. Can you identify the number related lyric and name the song it's from? There are 20 small puzzles within the larger puzzle. The big sketch of Tori in the middle isn't a puzzle, she's just there to hold the whole thing together.

Puzzle #3 - Dinner With Tori

A lot of us know that Tori describes herself as a food lover. There's also evidence of this in the lyrics of her songs. Each of the food items pictured in the puzzle is mentioned in a song lyric. Can you identify the food item, lyric and song it comes from? I've only included food mentioned in songs originally written by Tori. No covers. If I did include non Tori originated works, I'd have to include all the items from Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout,and that would have been half the puzzle! Some of the items are pretty subtle. I've included some visual hints for some of the more difficult to identify food items. Some items in the picture are composed of more than one component, each of which appear in different lyrics. Also some foods appear in multiple songs. There are 51 distinct items in the puzzle that relate to one or more Tori lyric.

Step into the Light, RAINN fundraiser

There is a very worthwhile fundraiser for RAINN happening now. I donated several prints of the Tori Puzzle Box that are up for auction. There are many other great items for sale by other fantastic Tori inspired artists including my friend, the amazing Pauline Stuckey (illustrator of the Bee Sides songbook). Please support this very worthwhile cause.

Tori Conspiracy Page now available in Portuguese

Fans of my conspiracy page can now read a Portuguese translation of the page done by Fernanda, a Brazilian Toriphile. Attention Boston Toriphiles

If you're in the New England area you should know about our group, The Boston area Toriphiles. We're a bunch of Ears With Feet who get together every once in a while for Torifests, movies and other activities. We currently have 56 members. Atlantic Records calls my page "Very Cool, Highly Creative"

The official Tori site www.tori.com run by Tori's label,Atlantic records, lists my page among it's linked Tori page. My site was the ONLY site with a commentary next to it saying it was Very Cool and Highly Creative! Thank you Atlantic!

My page referred to in Q Magazine?

The May 1998 issue of Q magazine features a cover story on Tori. Here is an interesting excerpt In the US, Web pages document every aspect of her life history, discuss her tangential, often brutally candid lyrics. Freakily, there are lists of every foodstuff she has ever mentioned in her songs and interviews. I can't help but wonder if this is a reference to my Dinner With Tori puzzle.

I had an idea for helping Toriphiles to locate one another using the power of the net.I presented my idea to Mikewhy, webmaster of The Dent in the Tori Amos Net Universe page and he liked it. Figure it out in the spotlight

My page is gaining a bit more publicity these days. This page is one of a select few mentioned on the Ultimate Artist Tori page at the unfURLed Web Site. Unfurled is a music site created jointly by MTV and Yahoo.

My page has also recieved a four doughnut rating at the Kiluaea Caldera page.

I plan to continue to put up New Tori Puzzles and Pictures. I'm coming up with new ideas so be sure to stop by again. If you like my page tell all your Toriphile friends. Thanks for all the nice comments and feedback! Some kind Ears With Feet have even said it's the best Tori page they've seen.
