Grant Heights House Lowered
A power scoop demolishes a building just like the on in the background in the Phase 1 area of the Grant Heights Family Housing Annex in Tokyo. The annex is being returned to Japan in segments. Until demolition began, buildings like it at Grant Heights had served as home to thousands of American military families over the years. As more buildings are vacated and closed-off, the housing area has taken on the appearance of a ghost city.
