"You're Under Arrest" is scheduled to be terminated near at hand. Many fan-page and bulletin board systems of You're Under Arrest at present in Japan deal with it. Fans of You're Under Arrest keep speaking against the successor at a lot of home pages. TBS, Tokyo Broadcasting System, Japan postponed the official announcement. They will announce in 08/26/97. The last broadcasting is scheduled to be the file 51 in September 1997.
Fans of You're Under Arrest consist of two parties. One is Party of Miyuki Kobayakawa, and the other is Party of Natsumi Tsujimoto. They include fans of motor-mechanics and fans of police action scenes.
In this summer Comike, fan clubs of motor-mechanics sold Doujinshi cartoons without erotic scenes. On the other hand, some groups that like plump Miyuki and plump Natsumi dealt with their hard core scenes mainly.
Those who were interested in Bike Comics when Tatsuya Egawa drew "Be Free!" jumped at Kousuke Fujishima when the man who had been an assistant for Egawa then began You're Under Arrest which dealt with motorbikes and car action scenes.
The cartoon had already ended the series when Bandai Visual, Marubeni and Kodansha made four original video animations of You're Under Arrest in 1994. In the OVA, ripe voice actors except Etsuko Kozakura played the role. The heroines two, Sakiko Tamagawa and Akiko Hiramatsu made their stage debut as a singer unit called Tokyo Policewomen's Duo (TPD) and some zealous fans went crazy for TPD.
In autumn 1996, broadcasting of TV-animation type You're Under Arrest began. The first series of the TV-animation were made by Director Hiroshi Watanabe. The object of the series was Mr. Futaba Aoi who Ms Rika Matsumoto played the role of and Strike Man who Hideyuki Hori played the role of. Another popular voice actress Sakura Tange played the role of Saori Saga, a female senior high school student called Ko-gal. Takeshi Aono, a veteran, played the role of Daimaru Nakajima, the father of Mr. Ken Nakajima.
In spring 1997, the second series of TV-animation (Files 30-51) began under Director Junji Nishimura. The object of the series was the appearance of the new character who did not appear on the original cartoon. He appeared as a partner of Natsumi Tsujimoto. Tomokazu Seki, a popular voice actor, played the role of this Shouji Toukairin.
However as a matter of fact the program has a rating of 5 percent even if zealous fans formed a long queue for the Doujinshi cartoons of You're Under Arrest at the Comike. We must know "Meitantei Conan" and "Crayon Shin-chan" have a much more rating than that of You're Under Arrest.
In the File 42 "Work, the Flaming Revolving Light! (Latter Part)," Miyuki Kobayakawa, wounded Ken Nakajima and wounded Natsumi Tsujimoto solved a scandal by a fast-stream Police Inspector of Tokyo Metropolitan Police. These three made a very dangerous car chase. The car chase scene is much admired by fans. The original also includes this episode. But in the TV-animation, the situation was set as a big scandal of the head office. The sufferings of the managing staff were also drawn in the story. Another legend was added into You're Under Arrest series.

From A Letter To A Certain Webmaster On "You're Under Arrest"

from Japan
Dear Sir,
Thank you for your very nice page on "You're Under Arrest"! I also like the story.
In Japan, fans of "You're Under Arrest" are in a panic at present. The last broadcasting of TV-animation type "You're Under Arrest" is scheduled in this September.
Excuse me, but I would like to have a opinion on your page.
When you introduced main characters of "You're Under Arrest," you also introduced Saori. But her accurate name was Saori Saga. Ms Saori Saga wanted to be a policewoman. In Japan those female senior high school students like her are called Ko-gal.
In TV-animation, Ms Sakura Tange, a popular voice actress in Japan, played the role of Saori Saga.
As for Mr. Futaba Aoi, he plays the role of a policewoman. In TV-animation, Ms Rika Matsumoto, a famous singer and voice actress, who has an official homepage, played the role of him.
In Japan such a beautiful men whose appearance is like a woman as Futaba Aoi is called New-half.
TV-animation type "You're Under Arrest" consists of 51 files. Four files of 51 are made from Original Video Animation series by Bandai Visual and Marubeni. Other 47 files are produced by TBS, a large-scale broadcasting station at Tokyo-Akasaka in Japan, and Kodansha.
A new character who do not appear on the original comics by Kosuke Fujishima appears as a partner of Natsumi Tsujimoto. He is a policeman. His name is Shouji Toukairin. Mr. Tomokazu Seki, a popular voice actor in Japan, played the role of him.
