Guys and Gals, As some of you may know, recently we have been discussing the possibility of mounting a drive/effort/campaign to get VV back on the air.
I won't push for V3D inclusion (although it would be a godsend if even one member of VV force guest starred) because of the technical limitations etc. However with CN recently having picked up Voltron for its Toonami lineup and V3D enjoying a lot of success going into its second season---now would seem to be a good time for all things Voltron. Now is as good a time as any to ensure that a wonderful piece of the Voltron saga doesn't get relegated to the dustbin forever and eventually forgotten. So we're thinking of mounting a drive to get the original 52 VV eps. of DOTU back on the air.Please bear in mind that the VV eps. of DOTU have not been seen on TV since 86.
We feel that there are 1)Many fans that liked it when it first came out and would like to see it again 2) Many fans that perhaps didn't give it a chance the first time but would be interested in seeing it now 10+ years later 3) Many fans who never saw it and are curious 4) Many fans who due to their youth DONT EVEN KNOW it ever existed but who should be exposed to a great part of Voltron history.
It is obvious that in order for us to succeed we're going to need a lot of support. I would like to kindly ask that everyone that is a Voltron fan on this board please support this drive in one form or another. The first thing we need to do is get some kind of a list of all the fans who are willing to support the endeavor. A listbot server type thing would be great!! If anybody has the technical know how to get a listbot going please get in contact with me or Chios (I know you support this) Until then I will be assembling the list the old fashioned way. Please either post your e-mail as a reply to this message on the board OR send me your e-mail (I always list my e-mail adress on my messages: Wingedleo@aol.com)This list will enable us to get in contact with each other and plan strategy.
Until we have the list completed and can start to discuss major things like letter writing campaigns the other thing you can can do to express support for this endeavor is to bug,bug,bug WEP to put up a VV section here on the Voltron web page. This site is by WEP therefore it's "official---yet if you look around this website you would never even know that VV was ever a part of Voltron history. Not one mention!! (The 3 videos for sale at the gift shop dont count) It stands to reason that the official site should have info on the WHOLE Voltron mythos not just one part of it. If we could get WEP to put up a VV section here on the Voltron website, it could create a larger awareness of VV among the fans and people who just visit casually. It might get them interested in seeing it come back to TV. If nothing else it would make the Voltron website even more awesome than it already is.
