Growlithe's Game Info
Gameboy
Pokémon
The game Pokémon was released
in Japan in February 1996. It became very popular and soon a cartoon
series of Pokémon was released too, along with many toys,
dolls and other Pokémon stuff. The name Pokémon
actually comes from Pokétto Monstaa, which, in Japanese, means
Pocket Monster. So far only Pokémon on Gameboy has been
released, but N64 versions are on the way!
What to do?
In the game you have two main goals.
One is to catch all 150 Pokémon, the other is to become the
best Pokémon trainers of all time. To collect all the
Pokémon you will need to fight, train, trade and link (more
info below). To become the best Pokémon trainer is a bit more
complicated but it is easier than catching the Pokémon -
believe me, it is! First you need to defeat all the Gym leaders and
then you need to go against the Elite Four - and then, finally, you
have to beat Gary Oak! However, sometimes you need to go and do other
things - for example, in Vermilion City, there is a bush blocking the
way to the Gym! How do you get past? You have to teach one of your
Pokémon to cut!
Linking
There are actually two versions of
Pokémon - Red and Blue. The reason for this is that each
version of Pokémon has only 139 different Pokémon and
to catch all 150 Pokémon you have to link 2 Gameboys together
and trade Pokémon. Green, Gold and Silver editions are also
planned (Green is already out in Japan) and with these the number of
Pokémon will be boosted to 200+.

N64
Pokémon Stadium
Pokémon Stadium has yet to be released. It will (hopefully) come packaged with the 64GB pack (pictured below), which allows you to put your Gameboy games into the N64 controller. This will be used to put Pokémon into, then you can load your monsters from your saved game on the Gameboy onto the N64 and battle in 3D!!! I don't know about you, but to me this actually sounds pretty boring. All you ever do is battle!!! I think a full Pokémon RPG on the N64 would be better.

Pokémon Snap
Pokémon Snap has yet to be released. However unfortunately (unless you live in Japan) the game is currently scheduled for release ONLY in Japan. In this game you have to fill up your Pokédex, like in the original game, but this time you take photos of the Pokémon instead. This sounds much more interesting than Pokémon Stadium. Sadly I will probably never get to play it, unless they decide to release it in Australia!

Pikachu Genki Dechu
Pikachu Genki Dechu sounds like a very good game. It uses the N64 VRS system to interact with Pikachu. In the game you must raise Pikachu from a young child. You do this by talking to Pikachu through the microphone included in the VRS system. As he grows up Pikachu will either hate you or love you. Once again, this game will probably never be released anywhere except Japan, likewise the VRS system.

You need Quicktime to view the movies. If you don't have it go here for it.
