"A sword
is a weapon. Kenjutsu is an art of killing. This is its true nature. But
I like Kaoru-dono's belief better than its true nature. I like it better."
KENSHIN!! Ah!
My favorite girly, sakabatou-wielding rurouni! (*hearts for eyes*)
Kenshin was
once the legendary Hitokiri Battousai who killed many people during the
Bakumatsu to create the new Meiji era, but after a tragic incident which
involves the origin of his cross-scar (::trying to keep it spoiler free
here:: ^_^x)
he became a rurouni who would never kill again. After ten years of wandering,
he met a young woman named Kaoru. Ever since, Kenshin lives at Kaoru's
dojo, atoning for his past sins by using his sword to protect the people
he loves.
Although he
can also be a fierce and dangerous swordsman when put in the kind of situation,
Kenshin is a peaceful person at heart, which is what Kaoru is able to see
in him. Even as Battousai, his killings were only in the intention of bringing
greater good to the people and the country.
Kenshin can
be recognized by his red hair, which is in a ponytail, and the cross scar
on his left cheek. He is such a sweet, gentle, and polite person, there's
really nothing not to like about this guy. He cooks. He cleans. He does
the laundry. (Really handy to keep around the house ^_-)
Plus he's really hot. (Everyone looks at her and gasps: O.O Kaho!)
On a somewhat
more serious note though, we must remember that although Kenshin is generally
a peaceful person, he was once a Hitokiri, a man whose hands can never
let go of a sword.
"If there
is a peaceful new era beyond this blood-stained sword and the victims of
it... Then I will... In place of the heavens, kill people." --Battousai
"Even bandits
and slave traders are just bodies when they die." --Shinta (child Kenshin) |
