The Namm show
was a very interesting event. It is the business and sales end of selling
the tools musicians use to make their music. Dealers and product
makers from all over the globe are there representing their companies,
pushing their goods. Musicians from all over the world come to demonstrate
product, make deals on equiptment, sign autographs, general p/r junk and
gain endorsements. Some of us are there to see the sights and play
with the new product coming out in the new year. Dealers are there
to sell their goods to music stores. I, P-Sticks visited the
show on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday I met an incredible individual.
A huge funk icon globally. Here is the photo of Bootsy and I.
I only have heard a couple of his works. Yet I knew of him through
the Praxis Animal Behavior video along with Dee-Lite's video. The
man is truly amazing. I recently cought a glimpse of his live work
when I was in Japan. It was on a boot leg video of a concert and
an interview. The performance that sticks in my mind was that of
a song entitled "The One." In this performance, Bootsy leaves the
stage. He walks among the crowd touching them, hugging them.
It is total connection with those that matter most. Much respect
to an incredible individual in the form of interplanetary traveller Bootsy
Collins. Purchase his old works like 'Ultrawave' or 'What's Bootsy
Doing.' Or maybe grab his new one, 'Straight Out of P University.'
