Nanami Jinnai is the unfortunate sister of Katsuhiko. She is sucked into El-Hazard, but much further away from Makoto and Fujisawa, so she doens't find them again until Episode 3. When she regroups with them, she discovers that she has the ability to see through the disguises of the Phantom Tribe, a mysterious underground civilization also in the war for El-Hazard. Although she doesn't physically admit to it, she has a serious crush on Makoto, which adds to some humor later on.....
