Gourry Gabriev! This guy is the dumb as a rock warrior who accompanies Lina on her journey. He's 21 years old, and is a master swordsman. He runs into Lina one fine day while she's being attacked by a group of bandits she recently stole from (which she didn't even consider to be any threat anyway, being that she could have taken them all on...). Think that she was a damsel in distress (don't they all), he comes to Lina's rescue. After that, he offers to escort her to Atlas City, because that's where she was headed, thinking that she's "just a kid" (little did he know...). Well, this all leads up into them ending up in quite a few messy situations that lead to their involvment in the rest of the plot. Later, he reveals that he carries no ordinary sword, but the Legendary Sword of Light, the sword which supposedly slew the great beast Zanaphar with one stroke. |
