KANE BLUERIVER  

Kane Blueriver of Lost Universe is in the Bishounen shrine because I think he's adorable. I have a thing for guys with really cute hair, and I like the fact that Kane is older than me. Plus, even though he's a jerk occasionally, he's mostly really nice. I just wish he'd wander around without his ridiculous "mantle" on; he has such cute clothes, and he looks SO MUCH better without it on; but it's like Gourry (from Slayers) and his armor; we very rarely see him without it on.   As you can probably see, Lost Universe is drawn by the same people who did Slayers. I think it even comes from the same creative team, at least partially. Megumi Hayashibara is back; she plays Canal. The main character of this show is Kane, unlike Slayers with it's female protagonist. Kane is a "trouble contractor"; basically a mercenary who goes around doing stuff, but he also works for this other guy. I like to think of him as similar to Han Solo. (Harrison Ford is a cutie too!)

 

In case you were wondering, Lost Universe is a futuristic shounen show with spaceships and other assorted "future" things. Kane's ship bears a striking resemblance to the USS Enterprise, only a lot smaller, just big enough for one guy, an Artificial Intelligence (Canal) and an annoying but funny and cute girl (Milly). It's funny and SciFi. It's new, even in Japan, but it's already being fansubbed.
