STORY BEHIND DAN: Before I tell you Dan's Legend, lets get some "Creative" History on the man, the myth, the Danman!!! Dan's First Appearance in the Street Fighter Universe was from a Promotional Drawing in Japan Showing Sagat (The Skinny Twig Version) Holding a Bloody looking Dan (Who's Wearing an Orange Gi as opposed to the Pink Gi he wears in the Game). For the first Appearance of Dan, Please go to the Shrine of Dan Hibiki. After that, Pretty much Dan was a scale of oblivion until he was discovered as a Secret Character on Street Fighter Alpha. Dan Consists of many aspects of Rival Company SNK's Street Fighter Clone "Art of Fighting"., his Hairstyle Comes From Robert Garcia, his Gi style and Fighting Style is from Ryo Sakazaki, His Perfect Win Pose in Street Fighter Alpha 2 is from Yuri Sakazaki, and his Custom Combo Symbol from Street Fighter Alpha 2 is the Mask of Mr. Karate or Takuma Sakazaki. His Endings in Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter is Similar to the Ending in Art of Fighting, in which Ryo Finds out that Mr. Karate is his Father. However, that's where the hole Thing about Art of Fighting Ends. For Storyline Porposes, Dan's Story is Similar to that of Terry Bogards Quest in "Fatal Fury", as he wants revenge over the man who killed his father. For Mockery Reasons, Capcom Purposely Made Dan "Suck". For instance, Dan Doesn't have that much Comboes, as opposed to the other Shotokan Warriors and some of his Moves are Sometimes Hassling to the player. all of Dan's Moves Come from Ryo and Robert's Style in Art of Fighting (Kyokugenryu) but Dan's Style (Saikyo-Ryu) is a More "Watered Down" Version of the Style. For instance, Dan's Unique Feature to Taunt more than once is Due to the fact that Taunting was Useful in SNK games to wear down a person's Special Meter to do Special Moves and his Gadoken Fireball is Supposed to Mock Ryo's Haoh-Ken Fireball in that in Art of Fighting, if the Super Meter's Depleated, Ryo would do a Fireball Similar to the Gadoken Fireball. Also, his "Hissho Burai Ken" (Certain Victory Relying on No one but myslef Fist) is Similar to the Super Combo Ryo and Robert Do in the King of Fighters Games, Only that Dan Doesn't Rush at the Guy and that the Power Meter must be just Right for all 11 Hits to connect with Dan.
LEGEND OF DAN: For About 15 years Dan Hibiki has had the same Recurring dream... He's in a Fighting Arena and there lies his Father, Brutally Beaten and Dead, and a Man with an Eyepatch looking down on him. He Valiantly Fights the Man but The Man with the Eyepatch Does a Powerful Fireball Move on him and soon The Walls Get Filled with Blood and Soon his Face Gets Bloody itself and then another Fireball!!!!!! GASP!!!! He Wakes up in a Cold Sweat!!!! For that reason Dan has been Constantly Scared to Face the Man Who Killed his Father, Former Street Fighter Champion Sagat, but he knows that he can't live forever with that dream. He Soon Trains in his Father's Old Fighting Style, Saikyo-Ryu Karate but his Fears still get to him. Dan Soon Finds a way to push his Fears Aside: Make the opponent Sooooooo Pissed off to the Point that Dan Feels that HE'S The Aggressor!!!! soon, Dan's Version of Saikyo-Ryu Begins to Start up, where Punches and Kicks are not usually the First things Taught.... It's to Piss the Opponent off that's the Point!!!!! Dan Soon Made Friends with Ryu And Ken, Both Saying that his Style Sucks D--- but Dan Shakes off the Remarks and Continues his Training for Revenge until he Finally meets the Man who killed his Father, Sagat. He Faced Sagat on Two different occasions, the First Time he Barely Won against him and was Soon asked by M. Bison himself to Join Shadowlaw but Dan Refused, Saying in a Cocky tone "Hey, Your Just not Better than me!!!!" The Second time, his Fears once again came to Haunt him, but He Defeated Sagat with the Hissho Burai Ken and Soon he Gained a lot of Confidence and a LOOOOOOOOOOOOT of Ego, as he Soon Started up the "Dan Hibiki School of Saikyo-Ryu!!!!". After he Defeated Sagat Twice, Dan has Had Two other Reasons to Fight: To Train young Sakura Kusangano with some of his Saikyo-Ryu and to Prove to the World that he's the Greatest Street Fighter in the World!!!! (That's if Ryu has a Problem with that!!!!)
