The Host of the Last Alliance of Men and Elves was finally at the gate of
Barad-Dur. Much striving and earnest endeavor lay behind them, but all
knew that the bitterest toll lay still ahead.
Gil-Galad turned to his mortal ally, Elendil. "How shall we enter to
confront this vile sorceror?"
"MEGA BRANDO! FLARE ARROW! FIREBALL!"
The great doors to Barad-Dur were blasted open. A short, red-haired girl,
apparently human, stomped past Gil-Galad and Elendil towards the opening.
"Hurry it up, Gourry! We've got a Ring to snatch!"
"Hold, girl! What say you? Seek you the One Ring?"
Lina looked at Gil-Galad in surprise. "Of course! I hear it's really
pretty, and useful, and..." Lina's face takes on a greedy look, "...
powerful!"
"We, the Last Alliance, fight to ensure that none shall have such power!"
Elrond stepped to the front. "Miss... It is the urgent recommendation
of the Wise that the Ring be destroyed immediately once we recover it
from the body of the Dark Lord." (A few steps from the confrontation,
Isildur, Elendil's son, looks startled and just a bit guilty.)
"WHAT? Destroy such a pretty object? No Way!"
Elendil showed his frustration. "Can we settle this later? The way is
clear; let us ally and finish the Lord of Mordor first. We can discuss
the disposition of his possessions once he is finished!"
Gil-Galad nodded. "You have the right of it, Son of Westernesse." He
then raised his spear and turned his head to the Host of the Alliance.
"ADVANCE!"
Within, on the throne, the brooding figure of Sauron looked at the
scene outside. He took a closer look at Lina, then sweatdropped.
"It cannot be... the legendary Dragon-Spooker? The Walking Force of
Destruction?"
After much fighting, during which many valiant men and elves perished,
the remaining leaders of the Alliance finally confronted the unprotected
Sauron. Gil-Galad and Elendil were wounded sore, but still stood,
thanks to timely assists by Lina and her companion.
Slowly, Sauron stood from his throne and descended, head bowed.
"Ugh! I heard you were handsome, like a Prince," stated Lina. "Now
look at you!"
"His face was forever marred in the Fall of Numenor," commented Elendil.
Sauron slowly pulled the One Ring from his finger. Placing it on his
two outstretched, open hands, he kneeled and bowed to Lina.
"I am finished, but I will the Ring to you." Lina waited no longer, but
eagerly took it and put it on her finger.
Elrond, suspicious, advanced. "What? Why, Foul One?"
"In the beginning, I served the Enemy of the World. The Foe of All Who Live
seems a suitable replacement."
Millenia later, Middle-Earth still suffered, as men and elves labored
on more and more once-fallow land, growing more and more food for the
One who sat at the Dark Dining Table.
