Born and raised in northern California, Bratt received a B.F.A. with honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara. After graduation, he was accepted into the master’s program at San Francisco’s prestigious American Conservatory Theater. He made his professional debut as an actor at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Bratt’s feature films include "Clear and Present Danger", "The River Wild", "Demolition Man", "Blood In, Blood Out", "One Good Cop" and "Follow Me Home", a film he co-starred in with Alfre Woodard and co-produced with his brother, Peter. He had a leading role in the television miniseries "Texas", as well as a regular role on the NBC series "Nasty Boys". His theater credits include the Shakespeare plays "A Midsummer Night’s Dream", "King Lear", "Richard III", "Much Ado About Nothing", "The Comedy of Errors", "The Merchant of Venice", "Two Gentlemen of Verona" and "Macbeth". Bratt divides his time between New York, San Francisco
and Los Angeles. His birthday
