Sam Waterston

One of America’s most accomplished actors, Sam Waterston
has starred in film, on television and on stage, earning critical
acclaim and a host of awards.

In film, Waterston appeared in Oliver Stone’s "Nixon; The
Shadow Conspiracy", starring Charlie Sheen and Donald
Sutherland; and John Waters’ black comedy "Serial Mom",
opposite Kathleen Turner. He earned an Oscar nomination as
Best Actor for his performance in The Killing Fields, and he was
a Golden Globe nominee for his work in "The Great Gatsby".
His other films include "Rancho Deluxe", "Heaven’s Gate",
"Hopscotch", "Interiors", "Hannah and Her Sisters", "September"
and "Crimes and Misdemeanors".

He recently co-starred with Mia Farrow in "Miracle at Midnight",
a Disney made-for-television movie filmed in Ireland and due to
air in May 1998. Waterston starred on the NBC series "I’ll Fly
Away", earning a Golden Globe Award and three Emmy
nominations. He received an Emmy Award as host of the
ten-part NBC informational series "Lost Civilizations" and has
also been nominated for several British Television Awards.

His impressive body of stage work includes Broadway and
off-Broadway productions as well as many productions with the
New York Shakespeare Festival including "As You Like It",
"Cymbeline", "Measure for Measure" and "Hamlet". He earned a
Tony Award nomination for his role as Abe Lincoln in "Abe
Lincoln in Illinois" at the Lincoln Center Theater in New York,
and an Obie Award and a Drama Desk Award for his portrayal of
Benedict in "Much Ado About Nothing".

Waterston lives in Connecticut with his wife and four children.
