Shinji Ikari Shinji Ikari is the main character of "Neon Genesis Evangelion", and he is the pilot of EVA unit-01. He is reffered as the "Third Child". He is the son of Gendou Ikari, the supreme commander of Nerv, but their relationship is very poor. Shinji feels strange to him because he left Shinji when he was very young. Although shinji says he hates his father, actually, he is eager for his father's love and care. In the very beginning of the story, Shinji is very negative, depressed and lack of confidence. He always thinks he is useless and nobody cares about him. But, after he lives with his guardian, Misato Katsuragi, his mind was changing. His confidence is starting to build up and he becomes more positive. Rei Ayanami Rei Ayanami is the pilot of EVA unit-00. She is referred as the "First Child". Her history is a mystery because all of her personal records had been erased. She is quite negative and quiet. She is very different from the same aged girls. She doesn't talk to other people and she won't show her own feeling to anyone except to Gendou Ikari, the supreme commander of Nerv.
Asuka Langley Souryuu Asuka Langley Souryuu is the pilot of EVA unit-02. She is referred as the "Second Child". She is 1/4 Japanese and 3/4 German. She is the opposite of Rei. She is active and positive. She is very confident and proud of her skills as an EVA pilot. She always want to be the best in the group, so, when Shinji's synchronic rate is higher than her, she is very unhappy and she starts to lose her confidence. Misato Katsuragi Misato Katsuragi is age 29. She is the Nerv Operation Chief. She is Shinji's superior. She is the guardian of Shinji. An attractive woman and very cheerful, optimistic personality. Ritsuko Akagi was her best friend in university. She wants to destroy all the angels, because her father was kill by an angel, 15 years ago. Ritsuko Akagi Risuko Akagi is 30 years old. She is the head of the Evangelion Development Project. She was in the same school as Misato. She is a smart scientist. Her mother created the MAGI system, the three super-computers that form the brain of Nerv and Tokyo3. She always has her hands full dealing with the fun-loving Misato. Gendou Ikari Gendou Ikari is Shinji's seemingly cold-hearted father. he is the commander of N.E.R.V. This quiet man seems incapable of communicating with the world... his only exception Rei Ayanami. Kaji Ryouji Kaji Ryouji is part of the Special Division officer of Nerv. In episode 8, he was on a ship with the Second Child, Asuka Langley Souryuu, EVA unit-02 and embryo state of Adam, but they were attacked by the 6th angel. Kaji is also the ex-boyfriend of Misato Katsuragi. Touji Suzuhara sorry, I don't have a picture yet Touji Suzuhara is one of the classmates and friends of Shinji. His little sister was hurt in the attack of the 3rd angel. He blames this on the EVA pilot. So, when he knows Shinji is rhe EVA pilot, he is very angry and he punches him. Finally, the misunderstanding between them disappears and they become good friends. In episode 17, he is chosen to be the "Forth Child" and becomes the pilot of EVA unit-03. Kaworu Nagisa Kaworu Nagisa is a mysterious person. The same as Rei, his personal records had been erased. He can set the synchronic rate by his own mind. Seele says he is the "Fifth Child" and sends him to Nerv. But, in fact, he is the 17th angel. He is a very nice person and he becomes Shinji's friend when Shinji gets to know him. Neon Genesis Evangelion: GirlFriend of Steel Mana Kirishima Mana Kirishima ia an original character appearing in the EVA game "Girl Friend of Steel"(available on PC, Playstation and Sega Saturn)". She appears as a mysterious transfer student and shows great interest in Shinji's affairs. Asuka suspects that she may be a spy, trying to get information about NERV and EVA, but Shinji's heart begins to respond to Mana's all-too direct approach, and even actually goes and asks her on a date!
