Chapter 12 Birth of an Ancient Evil



After finding out that her grandfather knew much more than she had thought, and than having to explain it all to the others and Jadeite, who had suddenly just arrived, Rei sat in the corner looking at her friends pail face as she continued her poison induced sleep.
"It's just too weird!" Miniko exclaimed "Its all to much too soon."
"The question now is who do we trust and who do we pound?" Makoto butted in. "I mean, well I know this guy was one of Beryl's goons, I never met him so I don't know just how bad he was."

"He was pretty bad." Ami answered. "We never did get him, Rei eventually turned his own powers against him."

"Hey Jadeite!" Rei shouted across the room to where he was standing in the opposite corner. "What ever happened to you, I thought we got you with that Jet."
"Please don't ask!" Jadeite seemed to visibly shudder. "It was awful, it was like a great nothing. I was there but I couldn't move, I couldn't scream, I couldn't breath, but the whole time I was awake just waiting, hopping against all hope that I would just die."

This quitted the girls as they now sat in thought.

A soft knocking was heard as the door slowly opened.
"Mom!" Ami exclaimed. Misses Mizuno slowly walked over to the bed and looked down at Usagi's face. She had often wondered why her daughter had decided to spend time with this girl, and now she knew. She knew all too well.


-flashback-


Queen Serenity is standing in a garden outside of the palace. She looks both sad and hopeful.

"They never did find his body, now all I have left is the Baby."
"There is nothing I can really say, but you know how we all feel." with this Ami's mom steps out of the shadows.

"I know, I have gone thorough worse and I will go through worse, and even though we don't see each other as often as we used too I will always consider you one of my truest friends."

"Did you know that it is the Young Earth Prince's fifth birthday today." Serenity smiled

"Yes that means that they will be taking him to see the old man."
"Yes they want to test him to see if he is the one."
"He is I know it."

On the strange ship that is orbiting the moon Thantos sits alone in deep thought. "Bigieu has done well, she enjoys causing fear. How fortunate she is so good at it, these silly humans waste so much energy on emotions, it would be a waste for us not to use it.

"You have been well taught Thantos."
"Master!" Thantos bows before the shadow that has just appeared in the room.
"You are now ready for the true power of darkness!" with that the dark shadow enveloped Thantos and seeped into his body. A brief look of terror is soon replaced with an evil grin as Thantos Lord of Darkness, becomes the master of shadows.

"Ho Ho, well it looks like your all here He He Ha Ha." Ami, Rei, Makoto, Miniko, and Jadeite. Turned to see a short little man with a long gray beard. Standing in the open doorway. Haruka, Michiru, and Hotaru stare at the floor from which the strange little man had just sprang.

"Ah ambassador you are here also."
"Ambassador?" Ami asked
"Yes of course the ambassador from the planet Mercury, The Queen's childhood friend."

"Mom?!" Misses Mizuno just gave a sheepish grin.
"You are not the only one with secrets"
"And where did you come from?" Haruka asked.
"From the Earth, Where else? I am Gnome the spirit of earth. I normally would have taken the King with me but he is currently occupied." Everyone turns to see that Mamoru had not looked up.

"But you will do. I should not be too difficult for you to retrieve the crystal."
"I've never had any problems getting what I want before." Haruka stared menacingly at the odd little man.

"Before you become too angry with me know that I also bring gifts." With this he produced a short curved sword, a mirror, and a glave.
"How!"
"No good thing is ever destroyed, they are only misplaced. Most go to the holy land, but a few can be retrieved in this world." Gnome started to laugh. "A long time have I been looking for those, and one more thing remains to be returned."

In awe Michiru, Hotaru, and Haruka took back there own.
"Thank You"
"Now Uranus come with me we go to climb a mountain."

Master Hikari stands outside of his dojo sweeping off the front step while he looks out across the street waiting for his Grandson to return.

"He will not be here in time old man!" Master Hikari turns to face a woman with flaming red hair.

"I know, I am ready for you. Today will determine your doom."
"Ha! My doom will not come today old man."
"No but what happens today will cause your doom"
"I find that doubtful old man."
"Out of your own mouth will come your destined end."
"Enough, prepare to die!" With this Bigieu drew her ax, and Master Hikari dropped his broom and drew his sword.
