“And I want you all to be aware that you might not come out of this alive…” Kinnison announces. He tosses a smile towards Hilde’s direction. She stirs uneasily.
“Why did he do that?” she thinks, “He makes me uneasy. I can’t let him get in my way…”
“Hilde. Why are you still standing here?” a concerned and hopeful voice asks.
“Huh?” Hilde snaps out of her small little thoughtful trance. “Did I just miss the mission instructions sir?” Hilde asks Kinnison’s grinning face. He makes a move toward her and stands only a few feet away now.
“You don’t need to call me sir.” He whispers gently in her ear.
“But sir…”
Kinnison puts his fingers up to Hilde’s lips softly and smiles slightly, “Shhhhhhh.”
Hilde turns a bright red and stands perfectly still. She feels her heart thudding against her chest. Kinnison brings his hand up to her face. Hilde turns away and starts to leave. Kinnison grabs her wrist.
“You don’t like that guy do you?!?” he asks with amusing concern.
She turns back to him and stares at him in confusion.
“What?”
“You like that man, don’t you?”
“Like who?”
“The man I talked to about you last night.”
“What?!? You were talking about me?”
“Yes. I wanted to know if you lived around there and he asked me what I wanted with you.”
Kinnison lets go of her wrist and grins at her. “See you tonight Hilde…”
Hilde turns and walks away slowly, surprised at what just happened. On her way out she hears a rustling in the green bushes. She glances slightly at them and stares for a minute, unaware that the man called Kinnison is still watching her every move.

Duo is standing at a counter with a content look on his face as he continues licking his favorite ice cream.
“Thank you for coming to Ice Peak’s Ice Cream. Have a nice day.” The woman says in monotone voice.
“Sure. No prob.” Duo says between licks of his dripping chocolate ice cream. He starts walking towards the library to do some research, when he turns the corner, he sees a figure that looks like Hilde talking to some strange man. He decides he wants a closer look.
“What am I doing?” he thinks. “What do I care-“ lick – “if she is with” – lick- “some guy?”- lick- “I need to focus”-lick- “on my mission.”-lick-
And yet, Duo finds himself hidden atop the trees.
“See you tonight Hilde…” a man says
“I can’t see his face..” Duo thinks, “I need to rearrange myself- “ Duo slips and drops his ice cream cone and watches it splat on the ground. It is a good thing the guy is fixated on Hilde. In his upside-down position, he could almost clearly see his face. But he surely heard him mutter the words, “Tonight. We battle.”
“Why that little- “ that is it. That little phrase is making Duo a little angry and he loses his grip and falls flat on his back.
“Aw. Son of a Twinkie!” Duo mumbles as he opens his blue eyes. He opens them to a chuckling Kinnison standing over him. Duo sits up a little holding his head and stares at Kinnison.
“A little spy are we?” he says a little amused.
“And you are?” Duo asks rubbing his head.
“I’m Kinnison.” Kinnison answers.
“She is busy tonight. She is having dinner with me.” Duo says looking at Kinnison with a mean glare.
Kinnison’s grin turns into a frown and he stares at Duo. Apparently that was the thing to say. Duo thinks to himself and decides to continue. “After all, I probably could ask her over our early dinner tonight. Seeing as you are filling up her late night by taking her on the battlefield. Very romantic aren’t they? Battle fields that is.” Duo gives Kinnison a smug look and Kinnison walks over and kicks him.
“Stay out of this.” He kicks Duo again getting a moan out of him. “If you think you can scare me with all your big talk, I have got some news for you. Hilde is mine.”
Duo clutches his stomach and tries to get up. Kinnison turns to walk away.
“Shithead.” Duo mumbles under his breath. He stands up and starts to walk to his house. He is walking to his house and he sees a figure standing at his door.
“Hilde!” he thinks to himself. Good I need to talk to her. He gets ready to call out, when to his horror the man Kinnison comes from around the corner and appears behind her.
“Does he ever stop??” Duo begins to get enraged as he watches the scene unfold.

Hilde stands knocking on Duo’s door when she lets out a sudden cry and whirls around to see Kinnison right behind her.
“What are you doing here?” she asks as she clutches a ring that dangles lightly around her neck. “You really scared me.”
“Sorry.”
“Did you forget to tell me something?” she asks with a fearful tone.
“No. I just wanted to know if you were doing anything tonight…”
“Um. Yeah…the mission.” It was the only thing she could think to say.
“No, I mean, before that.” He reaches for her hand.
“Kinnison…” Hilde starts to say as she is pushing away from him, but he corners her against the door.
“Please come to see me tonight.” He asks looking into her confused eyes. She searches his face and he follows, locking onto her eyes.
“Please.” He leans extremely close that Hilde gets disturbed and is about to move away when she stops dead in her tracks because of what he whispers in her ear.
“I know the person you are looking for.”
Hilde’s eyes widen and she opens her mouth to let out a gasp but nothing comes.
“You know where to find me.” He kisses her neck gently while slipping a crumpled piece of paper in her pocket. He grins and walks away letting her stand there and she lets out desperate cry when he is far away. She slides to the foot of Duo’s door and then sits there for a while, staring.

“I can’t take this!” Duo runs forward and makes sure Hilde sees him before he gets to close. Hilde stands up in a hurry and says with an uneasy smile, “Oh. Hi Duo.”
Duo decides to play dumb and then points out the obvious. “You’re standing at my door.”
“Oh right.” She says hesitantly. “I was uh…”
“Hilde.” Duo says, “Do you want to come in?”
“That would be great.”
