Hilde rushes out of her room and into the living room. She smacks the light on in a hurry and looks around letting her eyes adjust.
“Someone has been in my house!!” she thinks aloud. She rushes to the table and looks at her laptop. Everything was still connected. She couldn’t remember if she was the one that left it that way but at this point she didn’t care. She packed her laptop into its case and ran into her room. She threw some clothes and necessities into a bag and yanked the bag up around her shoulder. As she went back through the living room she looked around to see if anything looked like it had been taken. Nothing seemed out of place or disturbed. She takes her laptop and bag and walks out of the house quickly. Practically running to Duo’s house, she thinks, “No way. No way.” As she rounds the corner, she sees a figure rush off into the street. She continues walking to his house and before she knows it she is there. She hurries up to his back door and sees a Coke can sitting there. “A mission?? I forgot!!!” she slaps her forehead with her free hand. “Man!”
She picks up the can and walks to the trashcan. She drops it and stands there for a minute. “I can always go to Trowa’s. Or Quatre.” She thinks, “But they are at least a mile away…” she stands there lost in thought and hears a low humming sound. “Huh?”

There is silence between the two Gundam pilots and Duo pulls up a screen that shows where the entrance to his underground facility is.
“Batman, eat your heart out!” He says as he flies his Gundam into the hidden entrance. He lands the Gundam and locks the place up, still laughing and talking to himself about how his “cave” is better then Batman’s. He then walks out to the exit and opens a door that has a bat symbol on it. It leads him inside his garage. He walks out of his garage, pulls the keys out of his pocket, and jumps as he sees Hilde standing there.
“Whoa!”
“Oh sorry.” She says lightly.
“Um… What are you..??”
“Someone broke into my house.” She said shakily. “I didn’t know where to go so I just came here.”
With out saying anything he wraps his arm around her and leads her into the house.
“No need to fear, Batman is here.” He stops. “Wrong line… sorry. I had Batman on the mind.” He clears his mind and tries again. “No need to fear, Shinigami is here.”
Hilde laughs a little and walks in.
“Was anything taken?” He asks as he sets her down on the couch.
“Not that I am aware of... but I’m sure, whoever it is, tried to get into my computer.”
“Let’s see.” He pulls it up and unzips the bag. He plugs it in and turns the power on. The first thing that appears on the screen is a password conformation. Hilde leans over Duo and types something in quickly. He watches her and looks at the ring that dangles from her neck. He smiles to himself and then stops suddenly. He looks back at the screen and waits for it to load. No loading time. He glances at the second little box asking him for another password and he leans back to let her type the password. She leans in and clicks something lightly into the keyboard. He glances at the screen as it shows a white skull and “WARNING!” go across the screen. He hits the enter button and a box pops up. They both glance at the screen. “Warning! A file(s) has been transferred without the right password.”
Duo rolls his finger along the keypad and then taps it at “more info” they read more again.
“The file(s) that was transferred was to A:/ from the D:/My Documents/Data Table”
“Oh my god-”
“-of death...” Duo finishes for her. “What was in the folder Hilde?”
“Really confidential stuff.” She answers. Duo leans back and laughs a little.
“Well, it isn’t like you were going to go in some secret clan and blow up cities.” He says. Hilde just stares at him and then starts laughing with him.
“What am I doing?” she thinks, “He has trusted me with the biggest secret he has and I can’t tell him this tiny little one… What is wrong with me?!?”
“Hilde??” Duo’s voice breaks her thoughts. “Um. You can stay here for the night if you want…” Hilde looks at him for a moment and then places her hand on his head.
“No, I was planning on sleeping on the streets…”
“Well, you never know what some people do…” Duo says in a half serious tone, “There are some weirdos in spandex running around.”
Hilde and Duo laugh for a little while and then Duo heads off to put his pajamas on. Hilde sits staring at her computer screen when suddenly she hears a voice on the top of the stairs… Duo?!?
“They’re Bananas In Pajamas…” he sings.
“Oh god.” Hilde thinks as she looks up smiling at Duo in his pjs singing at the top of the stairs, slowly making his way down to her.
“And they’re waltzing down the stairs…” he continues while taking a tiny step down the carpeted stairs. “They’re Bananas in Pajamas... and they’re coming down in pairs!!!” Duo shouts as he slides down the railing, his brown braid trailing behind him. He lands with a thud right in front of Hilde who is laughing and clapping.
“Did you ever see that commercial?” he asks her.
“I hated it.”
“Me too.”
Duo smiles and then offers to sleep on the couch.
“I can sleep on the couch and you can have the bed…”
“No, that’s fine. I can live on a couch, but thanks for the offer.” She beams up at him and he feels his heart beat faster then normal.
“Didn’t know that performing the banana act took so much outta some body.” He thinks. His blue eyes widen as a thought crosses his mind. This thought scares him and makes him a little uneasy… He wanted to kiss her just now.
“Well, I’m off.” He says still standing there.
“G’ night, Duo,” Hilde says as she gives him a big hug, “Thanks for letting me stay.”
“No prob.”
Duo turns and skips up the stairs by two, probably just an old habit. Hilde smiles to herself and then yanks the blanket off of the couch. Lying down, she pulls the black blanket over herself and falls into a dream.
Duo reaches the top of the stairs and enters his cologne-scented room. He can’t stop thinking about the thought that had crossed his mind.
“What did it mean?” he thinks, “Where does it leave me now?” he continues as he stares up at the ceiling “I mean… do I kiss her?”
He rolls over on his side and tucks his hands underneath his cheek. Words that Heero said to him earlier that day echo in his mind and act like a deep fog that surrounds and confuses him even more. He soon drifts off into an uneasy sleep…

“Hai, hai, souiu koto ne...*” Heero says to Quatre who is sitting next to Trowa.
“You were on the news!” Quatre says in a strong tone, “That is not allowed!”
“Duo’s the one who wanted to get on the news.” Heero says, without looking up.
“That is natural for Duo. That doesn’t mean you go along with it.”
“We have to go see Duo tomorrow anyway.” Trowa pipes in. “It is really late. Why don’t we all talk about it after we get some decent sleep.” They all nod in agreement and head of to their separate rooms.
