Welcome, everyone! This is the section where I point out my favorite things off of Sakura's battle costumes, pictured above. Doesn't Tomoyo do a great job? Fourth grade and she's already a master costume designer! Well, on with the show!
This is a very futuristic looking costume, with a long sleeved, navy blue leotard, navy blue thigh high socks, a white over coat, and a red cape with a big bow over the chest. The hat is an adorable addition to the entire ensemble, don't you think? On the back there are two dark blue ribbons with gold trim that you can't see. The entire outfit gives Sakura a very noble appearance.
This costume is very fantasy-like, and also waterproof! the main suit is a white dress with the skirt cut into little triangles, a detachable, inverted kite (Hmm, is that a geometry term or no?) shaped collar, and circular sleeves. The boots turn up into points with little jinglebells on the top, like an elf, and the gloves go to mid upper arm length. The headband sure is cute, and it keeps Sakura's hair out of her face, too!
This costume is made out of all synthetic materials. The theme here is obviously wings- Sakura has wings everywhere! It's a cross between a futurist look and a traditional dress. The gloves have hand guards to keep Sakura safe, and the shoes are adorable little pink Mary Janes. Tomoyo did a good job on the accessories with this one.
Tomoyo gets back to basics with this very simple costume. It is a jumpsuit with puffy shorts, sleeves, and a blue long sleeved shirt to keep Sakura warm. The bunny ears and fluffy tail certainly add a cute touch!
Another one of Tomoyo's ventures into the future. The skirt on this one looks kind of like an umbrella, don't you think? I love the armor over the shoulders- it makes Sakura look like a knight going into battle! And that intercom on her head really works! The dress is somewhat hard to move in, but Sakura adapts easily. The bright yellow color is a change from all the pastels we've been using lately. This is a very unique costume!
This costume is very different from what we've been seeing lately, but as Tomoyo says, a Catburglar should be dressed for the job. This is my personal favorite. The boots go all the way up to mid thigh, and the shorts finish it from there. Sakura looks like a 1970s secret agent in this diamond, cut off turtleneck, and the bat wings and fingerless black gloves add even more mysterious flare. The hat, once again, is an adorable accessory for our favorite Card Captor.
Tomoyo goes back to basics, and Sakura is turned into a cute kitty as she does battle with the Thunder card! The skirt has many petticoats that make it somewhat difficult to move in, but Sakura deals with it well. The entire costume is made out of rubber and other insulating materials so Sakura won't get shocked while she does battle! Aren't the ears and the tail the cutest part of the entire costume? I love them! This is one of Tomoyo's best works.
