You probably think buying J-Pop CD's when you don't live in Japan is either A.) Going to be a never-ending search resulting in an old scratched Toshinobu Kubota single or B.) A very expensive way of getting your music. Well, it doesn't have to be if you know where to shop...
    On-Line
  • 2nd Hand Cd Shop- This is one of the best resources for buying J-Pop on-line. The prices are great. The only down side is sometimes you have to wait awhile for them to have what you are looking for.
  • HK Hong Kong Pop Network- Don't let the name fool ya. They have some good J-Pop CD's for sale too. While they tend to carry only extremely popular artists, the prices are great. If your looking for mainstream J-Pop at a reasonable price, you'll be sure to find it here.
  • Little Shop- This is an extemelty ameteur site, however occasionally it will get up-dated and you can find a good deal on a CD. Little Shop is a personal site and should not be thought to be proffesional. What it lacks in proffesionalism it makes up for in price.
  • J-List- This site was suffering for a bit when thier CD supplier left the picture. They are back in full force now with hundreds of new J-Pop CD's for sale. Again all CD's they sell are used, however the condition is always outstanding.
  • Paradise CD- Another amazing site. They have a great selection of J-Pop CD's and thier prices are fairly resonable. These are not used, they are new and in mint condition.
  • The Place- There is nothing that really makes this site unique. I have ordered from them once and found them to be a little un-professional. They aren't the most in-expensive site on the net and thier selection isin't amazing, but try them and decide for yourself.
  • CD Japan- This site has everything. If you are looking for something a little less popular or new releases this is the place for you to shop. They don't inflate thier prices either, you pay the same as what you would pay if you bought it in Japan.
  • Comfort- This site is quick at getting new releases available, however as a whole I don't find it to be too reliable. Try it for yourself.
  • J-Pop & Anime On-Line- This site looks promising. Although they have not opened thier J-Pop CD section yet, what they may have soon will probably be good. Only time will tell. Keep checking back.

    In the U.S.
  • Kinokuniya- This shop can be found throughout the U.S. in most major cities. They offer a wide selection of J-Pop CD's and new releases. For Info call: (206) 587-2477
  • Tower Records- Although primarily handling Western music, Tower also stocks some J-Pop selections. Check the International CD section of your local Tower or call (425) 451-2557
  • Karaoke Enterprise- A Seattle based company they offer an extensive selection of J-Pop CD's. I am not to sure if they handle mail ordering or not so, call for info (206) 340-1807
  • Video Hop- This is a great resource for J-Pop fans who are a little strapped for cash. Selection varies greatly from location to location. Visit your local Video Hop [usually found in a 'ChinaTown' type area] or call (206) 587-4037
  • Video City- They sell CD's as well as rent them. With the availability of Sony's MD, you can now rent J-Pop new releases and dub them for your own personal J-Mix CD. Call for info (425) 744-8043
  • Ijinkan- I have never dealt with this company first hand, so I am unsure of what they offer and what thier prices look like. To find out call for info (425) 562-9545
