Greetings and Happy New Year all! Jeeze, no mail so sad. Ah, screw the voting, it was a weak topic anyway. Nice to see that new ranma lovers are being found all over the world through my page. Germany and Texas and even Japan are a few. Well, though I'm too damn lazy to update or even advertise this page, the few of you who actually come here are probably bored. Yes yes, calm down, I have talking to Mike, and he say he going to put up long awaited...How you say....Ah yes! He say "Character Description" Page is unda construction and will soon be up. OK all! Ranma 1/2 is generally about a boy (Ranma Saotome) who
studies martial arts and is forced by his father (Genma Saotome)
to marry one of his father's friends' 3 daughters so that the
school of "Anything Goes Martial Arts" is carried on.
-Now here's the clincher,-While Ranma and Genma were on a training mission in China, they happened to come upon "The Legendary cursed Springs of Jusenkyo",-an ancient, now forbidden training ground with over 1000 springs, each of which had a very tragic accident happen inside of it: Something(s) have drowned inside of it at one time or another. Now, whomever falls into a spring of Jusenkyo, takes on the form of whatever last drowned in it. Ignoring the Guide that accompanied them, they leaped onto the some of the 100's of bamboo stalks permiscuately driven in the ground. Then they started to fight, and Ranma kicked Genma in the air, causing Genma to fall into the Shonmounichuan or "Spring of drowned Panda". Then, the angry Panda form of Genma leaped out of the pool and knocked Ranma into the Nannichuan or "Spring of drowned girl". Now, whenever their bodies get splashed with cold water, they turn into their cursed form, but hot water changes them back, but only until the next time they get splashed with cold water.
Now, upon Ranma and Genma arriving at the door of the home of Genma's dear friend, Soun Tendo,
both in their cursed forms, they knock on the door and completely freak out
Soun and his three daughters: Kasumi (19) a very good and well mannered
person, Nabiki (17) a Smart and cunning individual who's main interest is
making money, and Akane (16) a very tomboyish girl who hates boys. And
seeing that Ranma is a girl, Soun faints. Akane is the first one who finds out
about Ranma and Genma's "predicament" when she walks in on Ranma, thinking
his girl form is taking a bath. After seeing each other in the buff, Akane ran
screaming and searched for a weapon to kill the "pervert boy" with. After
everything being explained, Soun asks Ranma to chose one of his daughters
and Kasumi and Nabiki quickly say "Akane would be the wisest choice". Hearing
this, Akane asks why and Nabiki says,"Because you hate boys." Then
Kasumi quickly adds,"Well I guess you're in luck Akane,-Ranma's half girl."
And this is how is came to be. Ranma 1/2 is a romantic comedy and it's by far, my favorite anime series. What? Did you think I was going to tell you more? Sorry, you got to go to your local video store and see for yourself. You can buy them at: Towers, Blockbuster, etc. for about $25 a video that's about an hour long. I think that it's worth the price, see for yourself.
