jump...? >:)

Dashing
is the normal routine (tap towards twice to dash, back to jump backwards).
You can also attack while charging, which will allow you to do a short
sliding/skidding attack... very useful for charging in quickly! If
you press both kick buttons and either forward or back simultaneously,
your Mobile Suit will dash with it's shield up (see the pics to he right
and left). Unfortunately, there is a split second pause before you
defense dash forwards, and you can't follow up either defensive dashes
with an attack... but, hey, it's no big deal, right? ^_^ It's really fun
to surprise ppl who are firing their beam rifles at you by going straight
through the shots and nailing them with a knockdown hit :D

Booster
Jets allow your Mobile Suit to make higher, calculated, directional
jumps. In the Gundam world, every Mobile Suit is essentially flight-capable,
but seeing as this is a fighting game, it would certainly... mess up the
scheme of things. ^_^;;; To engage your boosters, hit both kick
buttons (but don't hit forward or back, otherwise you'll do
a defensive dash :P). You can do this while you're still on the ground,
but that would kinda defeat the purpose of the boosters ^_^;; (although
the fast boost from the jets might be used as a rather unsuccessful dodge
^_^;)
From
the first booster jump, you can hit both kick buttons a second time
in any direction that doesn't point downwards... This will give you a boost
in the direction indicated, which can amount to one really really high
jump.. ^_^ If you do the math, basically, you can do a triple jump
using your boosters! It's a really great way to dodge all that stuff
flying at you, not to mention air juggles. :D Another cool tech to
do is using your boosters to float down to the ground.
Just
simply hold down while you're falling from your booster jump and
you'll float down to the ground. you can direct the mobile
suit to the place where you want to land. This gives you a distinct
advantage because slow descents can really shake off your opponent's rhythm.
When you attack while descending, you'll drop to the ground as if landing
from a normal jump (other than special or super moves that make you float
a bit...)
Air combos are quite easy to perform, due to your ability to move swiftly
throughout the air. In fact, you CAN do unlimited air juggling to
your opponent... ^_^ (not that I'm good enough... ;_;) The common
"combo" would follow the pattern of regular attack, Special move, Super
move which MUST go in that order; you can skip steps preceding the
one you're performing, but you can't avoid, say, the special move... Otherwise
the hits won't count towards a combo! ^_^; For example, you can't
flying kick, then use the Wing Zero's dual beam rifle Super; it wouldn't
count as a combo. But you CAN go from the Wing Zero's Beam Rifle
attack to the Super or, better yet, add a hit in the beginning. This
is the same pattern as on the ground, by the way. ^_^

Ever
since the creation of the original RX-78 Mobile Suit Gundam, the 20mm
Vulcan Cannon have been standard issue for Gundam and other Federation
Mobile Suits; all the Gundam of New Chronical War Gundam W are equipped
with 20mm Vulcan that are housed within the head of the Gundam (see right);
the Gundam Heavy Arms houses it's Vulcan inside it's chest in the form
of dual gatlings. The members of .... carry a 20mm or 30mm Pistol
as a small arms weapon. As shown, at a good distance apart, a large
targeting crosshair will appear. The crosshairs are, of course, the
aiming for the Vulcans, but after you fire your Vulcans, the 20mm slugs
will never travel farther than the position of the crosshair prior to shooting..
which means jumping back is a good way to dodge ;p. If you duck,
then the crosshair will aim slightly higher than your opponent's head at
minimum range, which is, actually, kinda useless, cause the angle is never
steep enough to hit jumping enemies very well, but it knocks a charging
enemy back and into the air. Hit strong or weak kick to fire
your 20mm Vulcans when you're in range.
