After a mysterious accident, a group of teenagers from Earth are teleported into the magical world of El Hazard. Now in a strange new land, and armed with some unexpected super powers, these unlikely heroes are out to save this magnificent world from an evil empire, and bring hope to those who still believe in magic.
This first part doesn't deviate very much at all from the OVA #1. There's very few new surprises, but this serves as the intro to the AR series. If you've never seen the OVA, then you're likely in for some good reading.

Steen pulled himself onto the platform. "Stop yelling. You'll alert some wild animal that we're here!"
"This is not happening..." Garnett shook his head. "I'm just in Shell, unconscious under some fallen debris from the earthquake."
Steen took no notice of him. "We seem to be in a rather large forest." He pointed out.
A rustling in the bushes alerted both of them.
"What now!?" Garnett shouted.
"Quiet!" Steen said under his breath. "I told you that you'd alert some wild animal."
The bushes rustled again, but this time from all around them. A bunch of bug-like monsters came out of the bushes and began advancing towards the two guys.
"What in the hell!?" Garnett said.
"Stay away from us!" Steen said, panic creeping into his voice.
