Just as in his past life, Daisuke is most interested (and talented) in linguistics (with Ted Cole as his voice actor, how could he not be?!). However, in both the comic and the anime, he actually plays a fairly minor role. In some ways, he almost seems to be an afterthought on the author's part. By the way, for some odd reason, he's the only one who doesn't have whites in his eyes in the anime.
Man, do I love picking on Daisuke. ^^ He's just so levelheaded, and calm...I love Ted Cole to pieces, almost as much as Mark Hildreth. ::Sigh:: If only I could find a Ted Cole page. For your information, Ted Cole also does the voice of Kuno in Ranma 1/2, and he does a splendid job. ^^
I think the reason Daisuke doesn't have whites in his eyes is to show his integrity and sophistication. I think Ted Cole did a fantastic job as Daisuke/Hiragi. After all, I am Vice President of the Ted Cole fan club. ("I don't have any fans," he said..::snorts a laugh::)
My friend(and cousin) Christie Hoffmann/Emi always remembers Daisuke/Hiragi as "the one with the bald spots." ^^; The reason of this is the fact that Hiragi had six bald spots on the back of his head. (Or so Rin stated. ^_-)
What really bugs me the most is that there isn't much of Daisuke in the anime OR the manga. It seems that
Saki Hiwatari used Daisuke's point of view for the story, and nothing but that. But I am really interested
about how his life turns out. I'll just have to wait and see what happens, I guess. As I get the mangas in,
I'll be adding a whole lot more to these shrines. But I have to base all of my ponderings on the anime for
now.
I’ve known Daisuke the longest. He’s one of those annoyingly calm and level-headed guys...
