Haruhiko is one of the three main characters in Please Save My Earth, and my personal favorite of those three. His voice is done by Jason-Grey Standford (Yusaki Godai in "Maison Ikkoku"), and, even though I am not a personal fan of him, he did spectacularly well as Haruhiko and Shukaido.
Haruhiko is the only one of the present-day seven with dark skin. He is of mixed parentage, being one-quarter Indian. This is significant because he looks quite a lot like Shion used to, although his past self was actually Shukaido.
He is one of the few in the group who has psychic abilities, and in fact, nearly rivals Shion in power.
Haruhiko's story is tragic. He has heart disease. He is the one that is most distressed in the storyline. (Issei runs a close second, IMHO..^_-) Haruhiko's my second favorite male, and Daisuke runs a very, VERY close third.
Shukaido, Haruhiko's previous life, betrayed Shion, Rin's previous life, in a major way. You see, both men were in love with Mokuren, Alice's previous life. When the epidemic that wipes out the scientists spread, Shukaido searches frantically for a vaccine. All of the scientists except for Shukaido, Shion, and Mokuren have died off, and this urges Shukaido onward to find the vaccine. After Shukaido begins to show symptoms, he finally creates a vaccine. But he only made enough for one person. Scarred with jealousy over Mokuren and Shion's romantic relationship, he only gave the vaccine to Shion, and died soon after.
Later on, after Mokuren died, Shion found that there was no trace of vaccine in her blood. Shion lived nine years alone, plotting his revenge on Shukaido. He didn't kill himself, because he would lose his chance to be reincarnated, and because Mokuren begged him not to take his own life, and he'd never go against her wishes.
And Haruhiko payed dearly for what Shukaido did. The poor thing...;_;
This guy acts SO much like Shukaido. What a sweetie. ^^ He tries to be helpful to us every chance he gets. I hope his heart disease isn’t too serious
...I’d really hate to see him leave us again
