Hoka no koto:

The first track from Chara's album "Junior Sweet." I can't count the number of times I've gone to sleep listening to this on my headphones, reveling in the Ran-ness of it. Chara, of course, is an expert at sounding like a little kid, but in this case it's actually appropriate. Consider this song part of my soundtrack for Clover 4! About the translation--it's, well, highly interpretive. Chara songs sort of demand that. I remain open to interpretations other than my own!

Milk

We're good kids, all of us. Me, I'm a cat
Even if I cry they won't give me anything but milk--
Lying down all alone, it wasn't that anyone threw me out
And abandoned me along the road
It's selfish of me to go on like this, and I know it, so
I won't say anything
Silently. Silently. Hold me
In a world without mirrors In a world without mirrors

Ever since you said quietly that just passing the time
Was the same as solitude or loneliness...
"I'm sick of it, I'm bewildered,
I don't have the will to... I'm sorry"
This one who has appeared before you
Please don't hate me--let me stay the night
Silently hold me. Fragile things,
You hate them. You hate them. You can't love them
Silently. Silently.
Throw me out along the road and you'll break me--
In a world without mirrors In a world without mirrors Without mirrors
Silently hold me, this fragile thing
Silently. Silently. I can't hear
Understand. Understand.
Hold this fragile thing
In a world without mirrors
