EPISODE 1: "THE FIRST HEART ATTACK"
Adrian was a sixteen year-old without a care in the world. He was popular with the
ladies, cool with the in crowd and generally enjoying life. His home life wasn't so pleasant. The
elderly couple that had taken him and his sisters in had died recently but they had left the kids
enough money to get by in life. As he was walking down the street, he accidentally knocked
down a young woman who was carrying groceries. She had beautiful brown hair that was held
back into a ponytail and lovely green eyes. She must be about 17,' he thought, or she's really
tall.
"Say, why don't you watch where you're going?!" said the girl angrily.
"It was an accident. Here, I'll help you with those, if you'd like. It's the least I can do."
He noticed that that brought a look of surprise to his face. Usually, most people would have
started laughing, or worse, blamed her for not watching where she was going. This was new to
her.
"It's a good thing I wasn't carrying eggs today. Otherwise, you would have been in a lot
of trouble." He laughed. He wasn't laughing at her falling; he was laughing at her somewhat
smart-aleck comment. Then she started to laugh too but stopped quickly when she realized that
she was.
"Do you have far to go with these?" asked Adrian. "Why? Are they too heavy for ya?"
asked the girl. He laughed again only this time it was just to himself. He just smiled at her.
They made small talk on the way; going into minor details about the weather, local sports teams,
and other non-threatening stuff. It was a short walk from where they were to her apartment.
She thought about inviting him in but decided not to. It may be one of his tricks. Instead, she
took what groceries he was carrying and put them on her counter and closed the door real quick
before he had the chance to come in.
A shy girl? Sounds like a challenge.' he thought. He left the building where she lived
and made note of the address. He'd come back later and see her. Maybe ask her out to a movie
or something. As he thought about it, he noticed a tomcat franticly running around a back yard.
A few seconds later, the owner staggered out, drunk as all get out, and started to shoot at the cat.
Adrian was shocked for a few seconds but managed to regain his composure. He grabbed a
nearby trash can lid and flung it frisbee-style at the owner. The man screamed in pain as the lid
hit his gun hand forcing him to drop the piece. It landed on it's barrel and fired a shot that landed
deep withing the man's shin bone. He yelled in pain and the cat scrambled into Adrian's arms.
The man came limping along after Adrian who ran with the cat tucked firmly in his arms.
"Blasted cat! You're no damn good to me anyway. Curse you and your new owner!"
The man never saw Adrian throw that trash can lid and knew there was nothing he could prove
so he gave up the chase.
Adrian decided to take the cat home and keep it for himself. The cat seemed old and was
definitely a tom; Adrian wasn't sure when he first saw it. The cat had black and white
tiger-stripes all over his fur. He purred and batted his tail into Adrian's face, playfully. The girls
will be surprised to see this.' thought Adrian. The cat seemed to perk up when he said that but
Adrian took no notice.
As the girls and Adrian were giving the cat a bath, Aqua noticed the crescent moon on his
forehead.
"Is this natural?" asked Aqua. "No," said Tara. "Cats rarely have any sort of definitive
marking like this one does. It's probably bleach or something."
"Well whatever it is, it sure doesn't come off easily." said Flame who was scrubbing
gently but firmly to get mark off the cat.
"What do you think we should call it?" asked Aria softly.
"Well, he seems to like the water, so why not call him... Neptune?" The cat wriggled his
nose and shook his fur at that. He didn't like that one bit.
"No, Neptune sounds too feminine." said Flame. "Why not call him... Poseidon?" At
this the cat meowed. He liked that name.
"So Poseidon it is." said Adrian. Tara wanted to tie a bow around Poseidon's neck but
the cat would have nothing of it. After he was dried off and combed, he leapt into Adrian's arms.
Adrian decided to take the cat to work and show his friends the cool cat. He put Poseidon in his
car, a black tee-top Trans-Am a gift from his real parents before they both died from some
disease, and roared off. The cat was having a good time in the car and would have an even better
time at the Youth Centre where Adrian worked. The kids loved having a cat around. It
definitely loved the attention it was getting. On the way home, Adrian noticed a strange-looking
blond man holding up a very beautiful crystal to a guy. Strange beams of energy emanated from
the guy and travelled to the crystal. Two times today I get to rescue something.' thought Adrian.
He was a fighter and this was going to big a major battle. He stopped the car, and snuck up
behind the man holding the crystal. He spun him around and nailed him with a beauty of a
punch to the jaw. The man staggered back and wiped some blood from his jaw.
"That was not smart." said the man. He waved his hand at Adrian and machinery started
coming at him. Even his own car seemed to turn against him. Adrian managed to dodge an
array of small objects and ran toward the "Crystal Man". He lunged at the man and managed to
tackle him to the ground. The man dropped the crystal which caused it to shatter. The other guy,
who was down, got all of his energy back and used it to bolt. The man grabbed Adrian by the
throat and started to choke him. Adrian was struggling to break free when the cat noticed a heart
and lightning bolt on Adrian's forehead. The cat ran over and scratched the man as Adrian broke
free. The man screamed in pain as the cat did a backflip and came up with a wand with the same
heart and lightning bolt symbol.
"Here!" said the cat. "Grab this and say Heart Crystal Power!" Adrian was perplexed
when he heard the cat talk but trusted him. After saying those words, he felt energy pump into
him at a steadily increasing pace. He was no longer wearing street clothes, but a sailor's top and
crimson red scarf took their place. His pants became a sailor's trousers and his shoes turned into
bright crimson red cowboy boots the sam color as his socks. He wore a red headband with a
heart on it and a lightning bolt in the centre of the heart. He was now a Sailor Scout!
Instinctively, he fired his attack. "Heart! Coronary! Shock!" He aimed his attack at the
man but he dodged it and quickly disappeared. As the smoke cleared, the man was nowhere to
be found.
"Who am I?" said Adrian to no one in particular. Poseidon answered him.
"You are Sailor Heart. A warrior from the Moon Kingdom."
Sailor Heart jumped, not expecting an answer; least of all from a cat. "How, can you
talk?"
"Trust me enough to look into my eyes?" asked Poseidon. Sailor Heart nodded and
concentrated on the cat's pupils. Immediately, his mind was flooded with memories about a
place called the Moon Kingdom. He remembered his role as a protector of the Princess of the
Moon and the Prince of Earth. He remembered that he was part of the Royal Family on Earth; a
prince? No, a duke. He was helping fight in a big war against evil beings. He remembered the
cat too. The cat was his trainer; his guardian. He remembered everything that Poseidon had
when he "awoke".
"Poseidon, it has been too long. It will be fun to catch up on old times."
"There won't be much time for that, I'm afraid. The Negaverse is back and in a big way.
If we don't stop them, our universe will be destroyed."
"So am I the only Sailor Scout around, or are there more?" asked Sailor Heart.
"From what I remember, there are more in this world and it is our duty to find them and
the Earth Prince and Moon Princess."
"Cool. Poseidon, my friend. I think we're about to have an adventure."
