Sailor Elements

EPISODE TWO: "HEART'S AFIRE"

Adrian was still in shock when he got home that afternoon with Poseidon. He couldn't
believe that he of all people was a Sailor Scout; Sailor Heart to be precise. Poseidon had
explained it umpteen times to him but it still didn't make sense. He pinched himself just to be
sure that he wasn't dreaming. OW!' he thought and winced. It was no dream.

"You were the leader of a group of Scouts called the Elemental Scouts. The others were
your sisters in your part of the Royal Family of Earth. There was Sailor Heart, Sailor Earth,
Sailor Wind, Sailor Fire and Sailor Water."

"Poseidon, if what you say is true. Then could my sisters in this lifetime be the other
Scouts?" asked Adrian.

"It's possible, but I doubt it. The Moon's children were scattered all over this planet. It
would be too much of a coincidence."

"But don't you think it's worth a shot to see if they are? I mean, I don't think I can do
this all by myself. That guy almost wasted me today."

"You just need a little practise and... OOPS." Poseidon stopped talking as the girls came
in from shopping. They chatted about guys, clothes and all the things that girls talk about. They
took no notice of Adrian who appeared to have been talking to the cat. As the girls put their stuff
away, Flame came to him and asked if he was available to come to her debate tonight at the high
school. He nodded and said he'd bring the others as well.

"Jedite, report!" Said Queen Beryl, ruler of the Negaverse. She rarely smiled and when
she did, it was because of someone else's pain.

"Bad news, your Highness. I've located a Sailor Scout on this planet. He could be a
definite threat to our plans and..."

"If there is any Sailor Scout on this planet, we will destroy him and anyone else who
bothers to show themselves. Now, I've noticed that a lot of humans expend a great deal of
energy on debate. I suggest you use that bit of knowledge to your advantage, Jedite."

"Yes, my queen." Jedite, was fiercely loyal, even if he didn't always agree with
everything he was told to do. He contacted one of his hench-women, a being known as
Corkscrew, and informed her of his plan. She agreed and left to set it up.

The auditorium was practically filled to capacity as the people were waiting for the
"show" to start. They knew that both debaters were extremely competitive and who knew how
that edginess would take form? The lights dimmed and the curtains parted. The principal of the
school came out, welcomed the parents and families of the contestants, and proceeded to explain
the rules and setup of the debate.

"I must also add," said the principal, "that one of the debaters will not be able to show up
due to circumstances beyond her control, however, another person will take her place. Ladies
and gentlemen, let the great debate begin!" The crowd responded with applause as the two
contestants appeared on stage. Coming from the left, a tall, thin woman, with long red hair, came
out, bowed to the crowd and sat down. From the right, Flame appeared and started toward
centre
stage. As she did, Jedite was watching her from the wings.

"I've seen how much energy this one puts out. Unfortunately, I haven't seen her at
maximum output. Fortunately, her opponent is the best debater this side of the NegaMoon.
Corkscrew will rip her to shreds. Plus, I'll be able to collect energy from her and the crowd as
they applaud the theatrics."

The principal spoke again. "The first topic for this evening, will be Good vs. Evil'.
Katerina will start first followed by Flame for rebuttal. May the best girl win."

"Good vs. Evil? Which is better?" Katerina started. "I would have to say that evil is
better. With evil comes a ruthlessness that can get you anything you want without having to
worry about anybody else. Evil can get you what you want in life. With goodness there is
weakness. People say Well, if I do this, someone may get hurt.' That hesitation allows the next
person to jump in and take what you seek away from you. Why? Because they have evil.
Goodness is stupid. Evil always triumphs."

The audience gasped, expecting her to take the side of goodness. They were upset and let
her know by booing. Then Flame came up and took the stand at the opposing podium as
Katerina sat down.

"Good vs. Evil." Flame started. "It's obvious that good should be the better of the two.
Goodness produces happiness for not just one individual, but possibly a whole group of people.
Goodness promotes peace in our ever turbulent world and love and harmony is what this world
needs to heal itself of its ills of evil. Time and time again, most of us have learned to conquer the
evil inside of us and let the good emotions shine through our acts and words.

"Now, the two will have a face-to-face discussion about the given subject. Girls,
whenever you are ready." said the principal as both competitors approached their respective
podiums.

Now is the time.' thought Jedite. The energy is almost at its peak and the audience is
getting stronger by the minute. Now Corkscrew!' No sooner had he thought this, Katerina
looked straight at him and nodded. The girls started their "discussion" which quickly rose to
"heated conversation".    The audience loved the fact that the two girls were going at it;
head-to-head. But the best was yet to come. As Katerina started yelling at Flame, she began to
grow in size till she became the Negaverse creature that was called Corkscrew. Katerina grabbed
Flame by the throat and pushed her against the wall. Adrian jumped up from the audience and
ran toward the exit so he could transform. Poseidon stayed with the girls so that he wouldn't
arouse suspicion.

"In an instant, from up in the balcony, a shadowed figure stepped into the spotlight. I am
Sailor Heart. I am the Champion of the Moon Kingdom. On behalf of the Moon, I will punish
you. You steal energy form innocent human beings? Not while I'm around. I will rock you!"
Corkscrew turned around while still holding on to Flame. Poseidon ran down the aisle and bit
her hand allowing Flame to break free. Corkscrew fired blades at Flame which formed a cage
around her. Sailor Heart swung from the balcony on to the stage but was tripped by Jedite when
he landed. He fell into a pile of props that were to be used in the next school play. He was out
cold. Corkscrew then dragged Flame to centre stage and proceeded to drain energy form her. As
she did, a fireball insignia appeared on Flame's forehead. Poseidon recognized it and again came
to Flame's rescue by scratching Corkscrew's face and dragging Flame into the wings where no
one could see them. He then did a backflip and a red wand appeared with a fireball on it.

"Don't argue with me, just take this and say Fire, Crystal, Power. Hurry! Sailor Heart is
in major trouble."

"Okay. Fire! Crystal! Power!" A small fireball appeared under Flame and proceeded to
burn Flame's clothes off. The black ashes that kept her from total nudity became her Sailor
Scout uniform. Sailor Fire was on the scene.

"Monsters, beware. I am Sailor Fire. On behalf of the Moon, you will rot in hell."

Jedite and Corkscrew looked at her and laughed. They never saw Fire go into her attack.

"Fire! Combustion! Flare!" The ground underneath Jedite and Corkscrew ignited. Jedite
managed to avoid this but watched as Corkscrew was burnt to a crisp. Sailor Heart managed to
recover.

"Time to go back where you came from, superfreak. Heart! Coronary! Shock!" Energy
appeared and quickly zapped Corkscrew to moondust. Jedite quickly disappeared through a
portal just in time to avoid any attacks.

The audience roared with applause thinking that this was all a show. Sailor Heart and
Sailor Fire got standing ovations as they left the stage. When they got to a save place, they both
detransformed to their own selves. Poseidon joined them a few minutes later.

"Guys, you were magnificent." said Poseidon. "I told you confidence was all you needed
Adrian. Flame, you were terrific too. But we've got to keep this a secret between just us.,
okay?"

     "Okay." said Flame, exhausted.

"Say, Poseidon, if Flame is a Sailor Scout, do you still think it's coincidence that the
others..."

Poseidon motioned for quiet as the others came running in the door. Adrian quickly
hugged Flame in order to pretend that he was comforting her.

"Are you guys okay?" asked a concerned Tara.

"Yeah, we're fine." They all piled into Adrian's car and left for home. On the way, Tara,
Aqua and Aria were talking about what had happened.

"Did you see those two who were wearing sailor costumes?" asked Tara.

"They really did a number on that woman there." said Aria.

"Yeah, totally trashed her." said Aqua.

"Uh... we missed them. I was out cold and the last thing I remember was being thrown
across the room before Adrian woke me up."

"Yeah, I ran backstage after I had called for help."

I wonder if we'll see them again?" asked Aqua. Poseidon, Flame and Adrian winked at
each other and smiled.
