Episode 3: "ENERGY FILMS"

     "So how does it feel to be a Sailor Scout, Flame?" asked Poseidon with a smile.

     "In all honesty, it feels really weird.  I mean, life for the two of us will never be the same
again.  And what about the others?  What about Tara, Aqua and Aria?"

     "Yeah, Poseidon.  What about them?" asked Adrian.  "It seems to me that if both Flame
and I are Sailor Scouts, the odds are good that the others are too."

     "Sounds logical to me." said Flame.

     "Now look,. It was by pure coincidence, I'm sure, that you two are part of the same
family in this life.  Even if there was a small chance that the others were Scouts, don't you think
I'd know about it by now?  Now, enough about this subject.  Case closed!" said Poseidon and he
stalked off.

     "He's definitely hiding something from us, isn't he?" asked Flame.

     "You bet.  But I guess we'll have to wait before we find out what, I guess."  They laughed
and went to find the others.

     "So, Jedite.  I see you're still having problems with the two Sailor Scouts.  Maybe what
you need is a little assistance?  Hmmmm?"

     "Much as I really hate to admit it, Neflyte, I could use your help.  Queen Beryl's not been
pleased with me lately.  I really need something to get back on her good side.  Any suggestions?"

     Yes, actually, I do.  Let's team up and get all the energy Queen Beryl could ever need or
imagine!"

     "But how?  All my attempts have been put to dust by those Sailor Scouts." said Jedite.

     "Leave everything to me.  I'm already working on a master plan, but I'll need your help.
That's why I asked for the team-up.  Here's what I have in mind."  As Neflyte spoke in such
tones as only Jedite could hear, a big, evil smile came over both their faces.  Jedite agreed to it
immediately.

     A couple of days later, Adrian made a point of running into the brown-haired, ponytailed
girl again.

     "We've gotta stop meeting like this," said the girl.
     "We wouldn't have to if we could get to know each other better.  I'm sorry if I came on a
little strong that first time we met.  That's not usually my style." said Adrian.

     "Well, as long as you don't try anything funny, you can walk downtown with me." said
the girl.

     "Well, if you insist.  Say, I never did tell you my name, did I?  It's Adrian; what's yours?"
said Adrian as he stretched his hand out to shake.

     "Name's Lita." said the girl who didn't shake.  "So, where were you going while you
pretended to run into me again?" asked Lita.

     "What?  You mean I was that obvious?  Oh, man!" said Adrian.

     "Don't worry about it.  As an apology, you can buy me a snack." said Lita.

     "Sounds good to me." said Adrian as they walked into the local mall.

     They walked through the mall until they came to a restaurant.  Lita motioned Adrian in
and sat him down at a table.  She sat across from him and picked up the menu that had already
been placed there.  Lita noticed the rather confused look on Adrian's face; due to the fact that
everything was ready for them.

     "The owner is a friend of mine." explained Lita.  She also told him that she had made a
bet with her friend, that if Lita could snag the new boy she liked, they'd both get priority seating
on the busiest day of the week.  Today was Saturday, the busiest day of the week.

     "So, what'll ya have, my dear?" said an elderly Irishman as he waited on the new couple.

     "I guess, I'll have the usual, Charles, a big piece of cherry pie with vanilla ice cream and
an iced tea."

     "And you, sir?  SIR?"  Adrian was still making up his mind.  He just couldn't decide.
His attention was suddenly grabbed by the waiter who shook his hand in front of Adrian's face.

     "Oops, uh... sorry about that.  I'll have a piece of cherry pie as well, with maple walnut
ice cream and a soda."

     The waiter wandered into the kitchen to fetch their orders as the two talked.  Their
conversation was not unlike an after school special.  Lita told him that her parents died in a plane
crash some years ago.  Adrian told her about how his foster parents had died recently.  They
related their stories to one another and consoled each other.

     "Man, for a guy, I never thought you could be so sensitive." said Lita.

     "Yeah, and for a girl, I never realized a girl could be a fighter."

     "Here you go, sir, madame.  Cherry pie, vanilla ice cream, iced tea.  And, cherry pie
maple walnut ice cream, soda.  Anything else?"  They both shook their heads.

     "Enjoy!" said the waiter as he went off to serve another table.

     "This is really good pie," said Adrian.  "I've never tasted pie like this."

     "You really think it's good?" asked Lita.

     "Most definitely.  I wonder who made it?"

     "You're looking at her." said Lita, proudly.

     "You mean, you baked this?  How did the restaurant get it?"

     "As I told you, the owner is a friend of mine and she lets me bake stuff for her on
weekends and after school."

     "Cool, so what do you want to do, when we finish our snack?" asked Adrian.

     "What do you have in mind?" asked Lita.

     "Well, I thought if you weren't doing anything we could take in the new Sailor V
movie..."

     "Well, if you insist." Lita quickly hid her smile.  She loved Sailor V but didn't want
Adrian to know.

     On their way to the theatre Adrian saw somebody walking around, as if following
somebody.  The man turned, looked Adrian right in the eye and turned to run.  Adrian would
have followed had he not been with someone.

     "So, do you have any jealous ex-boyfriends?" he asked very nonchalantly

     "No, why do you ask?" said Lita.

     "Never mind, it doesn't matter."  But Adrian thought he recognized the person.  He
seemed very familiar.  Adrian and Lita got to the theatre where a strange-looking woman sold
them the tickets.  She had a hat that came right down over most of her face save her mouth and
she wore black lipstick.  Again, the bad feeling came to Adrian but he passed on it.  Lita and
Adrian got to their seats and waited for the movie to start.  Lita looked up and noticed that there
were several lights and "disco balls" hanging from the rafters.  A voice came over them by the
in-theatre public address system.

     "Ladies and gentlemen.  This theatre has been equipped to make this movie more
exciting.  All the theatres in this and other movie houses in town, have this same equipment.  It's
all here to help you enjoy our presentation.  Ladies and gentlemen, the O-MAX, Otaku-maxima,
proudly presents:  Sailor V: The Ultimate Challenge!'"

     The people cheered as the lights dimmed and the show started.  Pretty soon the special
equipment got into gear with a dazzling light show to imitate the actions on the screen.  Then, the
real equipment started it's job.    As the fans watched and enjoyed the film, the "disco balls"
started to collect the energy the people were outputting.  Even Sailor Heart was succumbing to
the effects.  He looked beside him and Lita was out cold.  He made a dash out of the theatre and
got out his communicator.

     Adrian to Flame... come in... Flame... need Sailor... Fire... At the O-max now!"  And with
that, Adrian collapsed.

     Flame raced down the street on her bike with Poseidon tucked into her backpack with his
head sticking out.

     "Adrian sounded like he was majorly drained of energy," said Flame between puffs.

     "Better transform to Sailor Fire as soon as you get to the theatre.  Okay?  I'll find Adrian
and try my best to help him."

     "You got it." said Flame  They reached the theatre within seconds and quickly ran in and
got out of plain sight.

     "Fire!  Crystal  Power!"  In seconds, a flame appeared under her and proceeded give the
illusion that her clothes were being burned off her body.  A few seconds later, she was covered
with ashes with melded together to form her uniform.  Her extremities, once again, caught
"flame" and the fire formed her gloves and red pump shoes.  As the surrounding fires subsided,
there in the middle of it, stood Sailor Flame with her hands folded and the two pointer fingers
and thumbs raised.

     Poseidon found Adrian in the main hallway and tried to revive him.  After several failed
attempts, he ran into the rest room, covered his fur with cold water and ran to Adrian.  He then
shook all the water off of himself and on to Adrian.  He jumped up with a start.  After collecting
his thoughts, he saw Poseidon.

     "Good, you two made it.  Now it's my turn.  Heart!  Crystal!  Power!"

     A red heart appeared in his chest and began to slowly beat.  The rhythm of the beats
increased as parts of Sailor Heart's uniform became visible.  Then, the heart stopped and all of
Sailor Heart's uniform was there and he stood there in an amateur wrestler's stance, ready for
battle.

     Sailor Heart ran to catch up with Sailor Fire when he was blind sided by an opening door.
He bounced off the door and slumped down against the wall behind him.    Jedite stepped out
from behind the door.

     "So, have you come to try and stop my plan?  I think not.  Tickertape... wrap him up!"
The ticket booth girl soon appeared and changed into her original form; a Negaverse creature
with a tickertape machine for a hand and arm.  Tickertape flowed from the machine and
proceeded to wrap up Sailor Heart who was still too weak to do anything.

     Meanwhile, Neflyte was looking over the collected energy as part of it pulsated within a
"disco ball".  "Soon, you shall belong to our queen as well as all the other energy we're
collecting."

     "Not while I'm still around!" said a voice.  Neflyte turned around slowly   There, in the
doorway, stood Sailor Fire.

     "You're not gonna get away with stealing energy from innocent victims.  On behalf of the
Moon Kingdom and The Planet Earth, I will rock you!"

     "Strong words coming come such a weak face!" said Neflyte as he flung some Nega-energy
at Fire.  Fire dodged and tried to go for her attack, but by the time she'd gotten herself
back up, Neflyte was gone and the energy was too.

     Sailor Fire ran down the halls to each movie theatre's projection room, and stopped each
film.  After, she went down to each theatre to investigate what they were doing.  She noticed all
the special stuff that they had used and tried to destroy it.  When she couldn't, she tried to contact
Sailor Heart.  When she couldn't get an answer from him, she went to look for him.

     Sailor Heart wasn't doing anything except hang around.  He had been tied to a giant film
reel and was about to be fed into an even bigger movie projector.  He was still out until the reel
jarred and stalled.  This shook the whole machine and the vibration sent soundwaves to his ears,
waking him up.  Jedite and Tickertape were quickly making adjustments so that the machine
would work again.  They were almost done.

     "Fire!  Combustion!  Flare!"  A bright red flame burst out of nowhere and burned away
the bonds that held Sailor Heart.  He fell from the reel and landed on his feet.

     "Now it's time to rumble, Jedite." said Sailor Heart.

     "Not this time, little Sailor.  I've got more important things to do.  Take care of them,
Tickertape."

     "Yes, Master Jedite."  The tape coming from her arm, extended and became leather.

     "I'll whip you two to shreds, Sailor wimps."  She quickly launched an attack at Sailor
Heart but Sailor Fire was ready.

     "Fire!  Combustion!  Flare!"  Again, a fireball launched itself from Sailor Fire but was
whipped back at her by Tickertape.  This gave Sailor Heart the opportunity he needed.

     "Heart!  Coronary!  Shock!"  The energy hit Tickertape and shook her violently.  Now, it
was time to finish the job.  Heart took his heart pendant and threw it at Tickertape.  It landed on
her forehead and began to dissolve her.  Soon she was nothing and the pendant flew back to
Sailor Heart.

     "Heart burned." said Sailor Heart in triumph.  Poseidon ran in and noticed that everything
was almost back to normal.  Sailor Heart de-transformed and left Sailor Fire to destroy the
equipment with Heart's pendant.

     "After all," said Adrian, "I have a date to finish."  They all laughed and Adrian returned
to the theatre.  Lita was still out but other people were getting up.  Adrian picked up Lita and
carried him to his car to take her home.  He found a key in her pocket and quickly put her to bed.
He left a note explaining that she fell asleep during the film so he took her home.  He looked at
her for a few minutes.

     "Someday, Lita, I'll tell you everything about me, but not today." and he took off for
home.
