Sailor Heart
Sailor Elements
Episode 4: Rumble In The Ranks
Tara and Flame were checking out the local mall looking for shoes for the upcoming
school social evening. They were discussing several things, guys, current events, guys and, of
course, more guys. Then Tara dropped a bombshell.
"So, where have you and Adrian been disappearing off to, lately?" asked Tara. Flame almost
choked on the soda she was drinking.
"Uh, nowhere. We've just had some important running around to do. You know how it
is." Flame answered. She was thankful that Tara didn't pursue the subject. She wouldn't have
known what to say anyway.
When they got home, Flame said she was going to go for a walk. Much to Tara's surprise,
Flame was starting to actually listen to her big sister's advice. Tara said this. Flame just
disregard the comment and quickly got out of the house. She ran down to the youth centre
where Adrian worked. She burst through the door, practically knocking it down.
"Adrian, we gotta talk now. Where's Poseidon?" she asked him out of breath.
"He's over playing with the kids. I'll get him if you feel it's that important." She
nodded. Adrian went to collect him, telling the kids it was feeding time. This was the code that
Poseidon and Adrian had used to indicate some trouble. Soon, the three of them were talking.
"So, what's the problem, Flame?" asked Poseidon.
"The inevitable has happened sooner than we expected. Tara and I were walking through
the mall, and she asked where you and I had been taking off to. I think she knows something."
"I figured that something like this would happen. So, I guess we tell them now, eh
Poseidon?"
"Absolutely not. Don't you see? If they knew, that would put them in extreme danger.
Suppose that the Negaverse got word that one of their victims was related to a Sailor Scout?
That would put them all in jeopardy. No, I think it's better that we not tell them."
"Jedite! Neflyte! To me!" Queen Beryl shouted. The two generals quickly ran into the
Queen's throne room. They knew the consequences for disobeying.
"Tell me of your latest plan to get energy from the humans."
"But, my Queen, don't we have enough energy to release the Negaforce?" asked Jedite.
"No, we still need a lot more. Neflyte, what of your latest development?"
"I've noticed that humans spend a lot of energy on campaigning for things. The most
energy I've seen them discharge goes toward saving their precious planet. How worthless this
energy is to them. I have yet to see anybody follow their flyers. I suggest that these people
should be our next targets. There's a class of students going to protest something called a
nuclear power plant tomorrow. I think that will give off enough energy to release the
Negaforce."
"Make sure that you and Jedite get all of that energy. With it, the Negaforce will expand
over this universe and destroy it. I will rule over everything! Now get your plan into gear!"
"Sometimes, I think she's not all together." said Jedite out of Beryl's earshot. Neflyte
looked at him and smiled. He knew full well what Jedite was talking about.
"Do you have to go protesting, today?" asked Adrian.
"This world won't heal itself." said Tara. "We all have to do our part."
"First, the world can heal itself. It just needs to get rid of the human race first." joked
Adrian.
"Very funny. But you aren't going to stop me from going." said Tara.
Adrian sighed. "You're right, of course. I just want you to be careful. Those things can
get pretty violent."
"You know I can handle myself. But you're right. I will be careful. Don't worry about
me." said Tara thankfully.
"It's my job, as your older brother, to worry about you." joked Adrian. "Just don't get
arrested, deal?"
"Deal. If there is more trouble than I can handle, I'll call you."
"I hope that's one call you never make. Now, leave before I change my mind."
"See ya later!"
The protest had already started by the time Tara and her class, signs and all, arrived.
They took their places with the other protesters and started to demonstrate.
"Now Jedite!" cried Neflyte. The energy of the people floated into a ball that was held by
Jedite. The sky turned red and the wind was really picking up. The local news magazine had
picked up this story and were still transmitting.
Adrian, Poseidon and Flame were sitting at home watching the show not knowing that
Jedite or Neflyte were involved.
"I think we should get down there and get Tara out of there." said Poseidon.
"I second that," said Flame.
"Fine. Aria and Aqua are at a friend's place. So let's go."
As Adrian's Trans-Am screeched to a halt, They saw Jedite in the air collecting energy.
Flame and Poseidon jumped out of the car. Adrian followed and he and Flame transformed.
"Let's get Tara out of there now. Sailor Fire, you go find her and I'll take care of Jedite!"
"Right. I'll take Poseidon with me so he can help me find her!"
"Jedite! How dare you use these peoples' anger against them! On behalf of the Moon
Kingdom, I will rock you! Heart! Coronary! Shock!" The energy that Sailor Heart released hit
Jedite square in the chest. He staggered back and released energy of his own. Once again, Sailor
Heart was forced to battle his own car.
Meanwhile, Sailor Fire was still looking for Tara when she noticed Neflyte sifting
through the crowd. He was looking for people who were experiencing peak energy output and he
found a few. One, in particular, was Tara. He grabbed her forehead with one hand, thumb and
pinky at her temples, and began to squeeze. Not only did this really hurt Tara, but it was also
draining her energy. As Tara struggled to break free, the symbol of Earth appeared on her
forehead. Poseidon noticed this and steered Sailor Fire over toward her. Poseidon leaped from
Sailor Fire's arms and told her to get Neflyte while he tended to Tara.
"Hey, Neflyte! You've been sucking energy far too long. Your time is up. On behalf of
the Moon, you will rot in hell."
"Pretty speech. Seems I've heard it before. You made a mistake coming here alone."
And with that, Neflyte threw fireballs at Sailor Fire.
"Uh-uh, that's my trick. Fire! Combustion! Flare!" The flame reached out and burned
the hand that held Tara. Luckily, Tara never even felt the heat. No so lucky for Neflyte; he
screamed in pain as he released his grip on Tara, causing her to fall to the ground. Poseidon was
at her side in a split second.
"You little brat! I will finish you!" He took aim, and released more fireballs at her. She
dodged all but one which grazed her forehead. She fell to the ground in pain. Sailor Heart
wasn't doing any better. He had gotten his car to stop chasing him, but was having a difficult
time defeating Jedite.
"Earth! Tectonics! Rumble!" The ground began to shake and even crumbled under
Neflyte's feet. Rock debris was flying around and managed to hit Jedite a few times with small
rocks.
"I am Sailor Earth, guardian of this planet! On behalf of the Moon, and planet Earth, you
will have a natural disaster!" said the newly-transformed Tara.
"Aw, man. Not another one..." said Jedite. "Neflyte, we'd better be getting out of here.
We've gotta tell Beryl about this." With that, he disappeared.
"Yeah, like she's gonna be thrilled." In a few seconds, Neflyte was gone too.
"Sailor Heart, Sailor Flame," said Sailor Earth. "I guess I know where you guys have
been running off to lately. Poseidon, thank you."
"No problem, Earth. I think we should get out of here before the news people show up."
said Poseidon.
"I think we also better transform while there's still a fog." Within seconds, where Sailors
Heart, Earth and Fire stood, emerged Adrian, Tara and Flame. Just in time too, for the media had
arrived.
"So did you guys see anything?" asked several reporters.
"No comment" said the three and ran to Adrian's car. Within minutes, they were on their
way home to celebrate their newest member.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
"Good evening, Prince Darian. The sunset in very beautiful, isn't it?" said Duke Adrian.
Darian looked out toward the west where the sun was indeed setting. He made no response.
"Darian? Are you all right?" asked Adrian. Suddenly Darian's train of thought was
derailed. He looked at Adrien and shook his head.
"I can't help but think about her, cousin. She is so beautiful and I am not deserving of
her."
"You don't really believe that, do you? If that were true, Queen Serenity would never
approve of you. But she must think highly of you to give her daughter to you someday."
Darian couldn't believe he was lucky enough to be the only man in the whole Silver
Millennium that was deemed worthy enough to be betrothed to Princess Serena of the Moon. In
his opinion, others whom he figured more prominent than himself would fit that role. But
Adrian was right. Queen Serenity hand-picked him to be her daughter's significant other. She
must have had her reasons. Anyway, there were more important things to worry about now.
"This Queen Beryl is a powerful enemy. She will take over Earth. Her forces are too
overwhelming." said Adrian. "What do you wish to do?"
"Gather our strongest warriors. Earth is lost so our concern must be the Moon. That
would be their next logical spot."
"But Darian, the only ones left are you, me and my sisters. We won't be much of force."
"You're right, but I told Serenity that one way or another, whether Earth was destroyed or
not, we would go to the Moon and help to defend it. I intend to keep that promise."
Darian had everybody gather in the main throne room. Adrian, his sisters Tara, Aria,
Flame and Aqua were in a circle. They let Darian in and teleported to the Moon Kingdom just as
Negaverse monsters invaded the castle and claimed victory and control of Earth.
The teleportation did not go as planned. Darian was separated form the group. He went
to see Princess Serena one last time before the impending battle. Meanwhile the attack had
started. The Duke of Elements fought hard against the attackers as did his sisters. The fighting
lasted for hours until they realized they were enclosed in energy and sent into the future. They
were to be reborn as the Elemental Scouts!
And so, our story begins once again...
